Heavy metal ions pose significant risks to human health, pelagic, and several other life forms due to perniciousness, tendency to accumulate, and resistance to biodegradation. Waste bio-materials extend a budding alternative as low-cost adsorbent to address the removal of noxious pollutants from wastewater on account of being cost-effective and exhibiting exceptional adsorption capacities. The current exploration was accomplished to gauge the performance of raw and modified human hair concerning lead scavenging in a down-flow fixed bed column.

A two-year field experiment was conducted utilizing a split-plot design with two sowing dates (May 10 and June 3) as main plots and six weed management practices as sub-plots.

This longitudinal study was designed to evaluate the vaccine effectiveness and immune response following the administration of adenoviral vaccine, , in Indian population who were previously uninfected with SARS-CoV-2 and to reveal the effect of various sociodemographic, inflammatory and biochemical factors on antibody response.
Methods: Briefly, the total immunoglobulin G (IgG) against SARS-CoV-2 spike and nucleocapsid protein along with the immunological markers were estimated by chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) technology.
Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) remain the mainstay of treatment for those with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML); nonetheless, there is concern over the possibility of additional cancers as a result of TKI use. There are not many cases in the literature where tyrosine kinase treatment caused a patient to develop secondary lymphoma. Herein we present a 49-year-old male diagnosed with CML in 2014, on Imatinib for six years with a major molecular response, who presented with generalized lymphadenopathy in July 2020.

This case-control study investigated the association of GST gene polymorphisms with the etiology and therapeutic outcome of B-ALL among Kashmiri population.
Methods: A total of 300 individuals including 150 newly diagnosed B-ALL patients and an equal number of age and gender matched controls were genotyped for five GST gene polymorphisms by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism technique (PCR-RFLP) and multiplex PCR techniques.

is one of the most widely investigated in relation to gene polymorphism. This study analyzed the relationship between and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and potential risk factors in the development of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in Kashmiri children. We recruited 300 cases and 600 controls for genotyping and risk factors assessment.

We aimed to analyze relation of different GST gene sequence variants with susceptibility and response to Imatinib in CML.

Studies on associations of various polymorphisms in xenobiotic metabolizing genes with different cancers including acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) are mixed and inconclusive. The current study analyzed the relationship between polymorphisms of phase I xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes, cytochromes P450 1A1 () and and childhood ALL in Kashmir, India. We recruited 200 confirmed ALL cases, and an equal number of controls, matched for sex, age and district of residence to the respective case.

Routine patella replacement with total knee arthroplasty has not been universally adopted because of associated patellofemoral complications such as anterior knee pain (AKP). In the proposed technique, the articular surface of the lateral facet of the patella is excised to the depth of the subchondral bone, and the medial facet is then cut parallel to the anterior surface. We evaluated any correlation between various radiographic parameters and AKP in 100 consecutive fixed-bearing posterior-stabilized total knee arthroplasties.

Hematological abnormalities like pancytopenia with hypocellular marrow in these patients are reported rarely. Though multiple hormone deficiencies may contribute to Pancytopenia in Sheehan's syndrome, complete recovery is observed after achieving eucortisolemic and euthyroid state.
