Background Ischemic stroke (IS) is a fatal complication of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). - The study analyzed 88 patients from a hospital in Pakistan, revealing that 13.64% developed AHF post-surgery, with significant risk factors including age over 65, anemia, hypertension, diabetes, hypoalbuminemia, and prolonged surgery time (over 120 minutes).
- The findings suggest that proactively managing these identified risk factors prior to surgery may reduce the occurrence of AHF in older patients.
