Article Synopsis
- Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites face limitations in mechanical performance due to the interfacial properties of laminated structures, which can be enhanced by adding nanomaterials.
- Through electrochemical exfoliation, graphene flakes with functional groups were created, and further treatment with silanization improved their bonding qualities.
- The resulting hybrid composites showed significant improvements in tensile (17.6%) and flexural strength (5.4%) with a small addition of modified graphene flakes, making this method viable for large-scale production without compromising material integrity.
