Collaboration between Public Health and Schools: An Example of an Integrated Community Social Care Model.

Introduction: There is a need to improve public health interventions to promote youth social and emotional development in close collaboration with schools, families and local communities. A close intersectoral collaboration between the regional public health, schools and school boards was established to co-construct and implement "Positive Intervention (PI)" in the Eastern Townships region (Quebec, Canada). This paper describes its implementation according to the "Integrated Community Care (ICC)" framework.

Building Families' Capacities: Community Forums with Parents and Occupational Therapists.

Parents of a child considered to have special needs are at greater risk of stress and exhaustion. Although many occupational therapy interventions can help these children, they often require significant time and energy from families. To document the perspectives of parents and occupational therapists regarding ways to offer services that help build families' capacities without overloading them.

Fertility treatment delays during COVID-19: Profiles, feelings and concerns of impacted patients.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic resulted in unprecedented measures across all health services around the globe, including the large-scale cessation of assisted reproductive technology treatment in Europe as clinics closed, causing disruption and delay to the fertility treatment of thousands of patients in the UK alone. This research explores how patients were impacted by the delay and disruption, and their feelings, concerns and reactions. A mixed-methods, anonymous, online questionnaire, live between 19 May and 30 June 2020, was used to target all fertility patients aged >18 years whose treatment had been impacted by COVID-19.

Analysis of implementation outcomes of quality improvement initiatives in Haiti: the fingerprint initiative.

Objective: To assess the process and outcomes of the implementation of an electronic fingerprint initiative as part of quality improvement in three health facilities in the Northern Department of Haiti, in terms of its acceptability, adoption, feasibility, fidelity, and sustainability. In Haiti, poor attendance of the healthcare workforce is a nationwide problem, closely related to the quality of care. Three health institutions have tried to implement an electronic fingerprint system to monitor and improve attendance.

Background.: Change agents' actions have been studied mainly from a theoretical perspective.

Purpose.

Dataset related to the characteristics of the champion that influence the implementation of quality improvement programs in health facilities.

Analyses of the present data are reported in the article "What are the characteristics of the champion that influence the implementation of quality improvement programs?" [5]. Data were collected from April to September 2019 using a qualitative data collection tool, an interview guide (see Appendix 1). A total of 21 staff were interviewed from three different health facilities in the Northern Department of Haiti.

Rich countries and developing countries alike are trying to implement quality improvement initiatives to improve their performance and the quality of care. There is evidence in the scientific literature that the existence of a "champion" can play an important role in the successful implementation of quality improvement strategies.

Social change agent training program tailored to occupational therapists' needs: a design-based study protocol.

Background: As social change agents (SCAs), occupational therapists (OTs) are expected to defend the rights of their clients, advocate for and with them, and try to influence organizational and political decision-makers. However, OTs do not generally feel equipped to take effective action. The overall goal of this research partnership is to support practising OTs in acquiring the knowledge and skills required to act as SCAs through a specific SCA training program and a toolkit that summarizes the key training points.

The present study is targeted to estimate the depth of anaesthesia using cognitive signal processing and intelligent modeling techniques. The neurophysiological signal that reflects cognitive state of anaesthetic drugs is the electroencephalogram signal.

Participation and needs of children with developmental coordination disorder at home and in the community: Perceptions of children and parents.

Background: The existing literature provides only a partial understanding of the viewpoints of elementary school-aged children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) regarding their participation and needs. In order to plan and develop health and social services driven by a personalized approach, it is essential to further document their perceptions with those of their parents.

Aims: The aim of the study was to explore the participation and needs of school-aged children with DCD at home and in the community, as perceived by children and parents.

Longitudinal Study of Sensory Features in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Background: Between 45 and 95% of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) present sensory features that affect their daily functioning. However, the data in the scientific literature are not conclusive regarding the evolution of sensory features in children with ASD. The main objective of this study was to analyze the sensory features of children within the age of 3-4 (T1) when they received their ASD diagnosis and two years later (T2) when they started school.

[Handwriting assessment of Franco-Quebec primary school-age students].

Background: Reasons for referring school-age children to occupational therapy mainly relate to handwriting problems. However, there are no validated tools or reference values for assessing handwriting in francophone children in Canada.

Purpose: This study aimed to adapt and validate the writing tasks described in an English Canadian handwriting assessment protocol and to develop reference values for handwriting speed for francophone children.

Social participation of teenagers and young adults with developmental co-ordination disorder and strategies that could help them: results from a scoping review.

Background: The impact of developmental co-ordination disorder (DCD) on teenagers' and young adults' participation is not well documented. This article aims to synthesize the current knowledge on social participation, which is the performance of an individual in realizing his or her daily activities and social roles within its life environment. Strategies and interventions to support youths (15-25 years old) with DCD were also synthesized.

Geographic distribution and mortality risk factors during the cholera outbreak in a rural region of Haiti, 2010-2011.

Background: In 2010 and 2011, Haiti was heavily affected by a large cholera outbreak that spread throughout the country. Although national health structure-based cholera surveillance was rapidly initiated, a substantial number of community cases might have been missed, particularly in remote areas. We conducted a community-based survey in a large rural, mountainous area across four districts of the Nord department including areas with good versus poor accessibility by road, and rapid versus delayed response to the outbreak to document the true cholera burden and assess geographic distribution and risk factors for cholera mortality.

Ecosystemic needs assessment for children with developmental coordination disorder in elementary school: multiple case studies.

This study explored the needs of children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD) from an ecosystemic viewpoint as part of a theory-driven program evaluation process. A multiple case study needs assessment was conducted. Participants included ten children with DCD, their parents (n = 12), teachers (n = 9), and service providers (n = 6).

Sensori-motor and daily living skills of preschool children with autism spectrum disorders.

Sensori-motor development and performance of daily living skills (DLS) remain little explored in children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The objective of this study was to determine the impact of sensori-motor skills on the performance of DLS in preschool children with ASD. Thirty-five children, 3-4 years of age, were recruited and assessed with a battery of diagnostic and clinical tests.
