The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic resulted in unprecedented measures across all health services around the globe, including the large-scale cessation of assisted reproductive technology treatment in Europe as clinics closed, causing disruption and delay to the fertility treatment of thousands of patients in the UK alone. This research explores how patients were impacted by the delay and disruption, and their feelings, concerns and reactions. A mixed-methods, anonymous, online questionnaire, live between 19 May and 30 June 2020, was used to target all fertility patients aged >18 years whose treatment had been impacted by COVID-19.

Objective: To assess the process and outcomes of the implementation of an electronic fingerprint initiative as part of quality improvement in three health facilities in the Northern Department of Haiti, in terms of its acceptability, adoption, feasibility, fidelity, and sustainability. In Haiti, poor attendance of the healthcare workforce is a nationwide problem, closely related to the quality of care. Three health institutions have tried to implement an electronic fingerprint system to monitor and improve attendance.

Background: In 2010 and 2011, Haiti was heavily affected by a large cholera outbreak that spread throughout the country. Although national health structure-based cholera surveillance was rapidly initiated, a substantial number of community cases might have been missed, particularly in remote areas. We conducted a community-based survey in a large rural, mountainous area across four districts of the Nord department including areas with good versus poor accessibility by road, and rapid versus delayed response to the outbreak to document the true cholera burden and assess geographic distribution and risk factors for cholera mortality.
