- The objective of the study was to evaluate both the adhesive bond strength and the fluoride release of chitosan-infused resin-modified glass ionomer cement (CH-RMGIC) compared to regular RMGIC.
- Twenty caries-free premolar teeth were used for the experiment, where RMGIC and CH-RMGIC were applied and stored in artificial saliva for 30 days to assess fluoride levels and bond strength.
- The findings revealed that the inclusion of chitosan did not affect the bond strength of RMGIC but significantly increased the fluoride release, suggesting potential benefits for dental cement applications.
