Two new limonoids from the leaves of Sandoricum koetjape.

Two new andirobin-type limonoids, named sandoripin A and sandoripin B, were isolated from the leaves of Sandoricum koetjape collected in Thailand. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic analysis, as well as by comparison with reported data of closely related compounds.

Aqueous extracts of nine medicinal plants were bioassayed against larvae of Culex quinquefasciatus Say and Aedes aegypt (L.). Among these plants, the long pepper, Piper retrofractum Vahl (Piperaceae), showed the highest level of activity against mosquito larvae.

Chronic toxicity study of Portulaca grandiflora Hook.

We investigated the toxic effects of Portulaca grandiflora aqueous extract given to male and female Wistar rats for 6 months. The rats were divided into five groups of each sex that were control groups, three experimental groups and recovery groups. The control groups received 5 ml of distilled water/kg per day.
