Pulmonary coccidioidomycosis is a relatively common fungal disorder in dogs that have lived in or traveled to endemic regions and fluconazole is a common antifungal treatment. Liver enzymopathy can occur with fluconazole administration, but the frequency of occurrence nor potentially associative factors have been explored in dogs with pulmonary coccidioidomycosis. Naturally occurring diabetes mellitus (NODM) is one of the most common endocrine disorders in dogs and its etiology closely resembles type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) in people. Two unrelated dogs residing in the same house including an 11-year-old, female spayed, mixed breed dog and a 7-year-old, female spayed, mixed breed dog ingested approximately 75 capsules of a human joint health supplement (Ligaplex I; Standard Process, WI, USA). A total of 2,062 mg of manganese was ingested between both dogs. Dog 1 developed acute fulminant liver failure and a severe coagulopathy that led to hepatic fractures and exsanguination from hemoabdomen.

A 13-year-old Labrador retriever mixed breed dog from Arizona was presented for evaluation of an acute onset of a head tilt as well as vocalization and head shaking upon palpation of the ears. The dog was previously treated for ocular onchocercosis associated with the right eye 10 years earlier.
