Article Synopsis
  • The study reports a case of a 61-year-old woman who experienced sudden vision loss in her left eye due to a retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) tear after blunt trauma.
  • Despite the seriousness of the injury, the RPE tear and associated exudative retinal detachment healed on their own within two weeks.
  • The findings highlight the rarity of RPE tears as a complication from trauma and suggest that the size of the tear may affect the patient's final vision outcome.
