Background: Information is an unmet need among cancer survivors. There is a paucity of population-based data examining the health information-seeking behaviors and attitudes of skin cancer survivors.

Objective: We aimed to identify the prevalence and patterns of health information-seeking behaviors and attitudes among skin cancer survivors across age groups.

Real-Time Reflectance Confocal Microscopy of Cutaneous Graft-versus-Host Disease Correlates with Histopathology.

Reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) allows noninvasive, real-time evaluation of the skin at a resolution akin to histopathology (HP), but its application in cutaneous graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) has not been extensively assessed. We describe RCM features of cutaneous GVHD including acute (aGVHD), late acute, chronic (cGVHD; sclerotic and nonsclerotic subtypes), and inactive GVHD and correlate RCM with same-site HP for a subset of patients. Thirty-two adult and pediatric allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT) recipients with cutaneous GVHD received RCM imaging of ≥1 lesions (n = 44), 13 of which necessitated skin biopsy.

Background: Melanoma screening includes the assessment of changes in melanocytic lesions using images. However, previous studies of normal nevus temporal changes showed variable results and the optimal method for evaluating these changes remains unclear. Our aim was to evaluate the reproducibility of (a) nevus count done at a single time point (method I) versus two time points (method II); and (b) manual and automated nevus diameter measurements.

Clinical and dermoscopic features of Fibroepithelioma of Pinkus: case series with an emphasis on hypopigmented to pink lines intersecting at acute angles.

Fibroepithelioma of Pinkus (FEP) is a subtype of basal cell carcinoma (BCC) that can clinically resemble intradermal nevi (IDN) and fibromas. We performed a retrospective review of consecutively biopsied lesions confirmed to be FEP on histopathology diagnosed from January 1, 2008 to April 8, 2019. Clinical (n = 48), contact non-polarized dermoscopy (NPD) (n = 44), and contact polarized dermoscopy (PD) (n = 22) images from 36 patients were reviewed.

Incidence of New Primary Cutaneous Melanoma in Patients With Metastatic Melanoma Treated With Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors: A Single-Center Cohort Study.

Importance: The development of new primary cutaneous melanoma (CM) after starting immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy is poorly characterized.

Objective: To determine the incidence of new CM in patients treated with ipilimumab, nivolumab, and/or pembrolizumab for metastatic melanoma.

Design, Setting, And Participants: Single-center, retrospective, observational cohort study using an institutional database to identify patients diagnosed with melanoma at a tertiary care cancer hospital in New York, New York.

Performance of Gene Expression Profile Tests for Prognosis in Patients With Localized Cutaneous Melanoma: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

Importance: The performance of prognostic gene expression profile (GEP) tests for cutaneous melanoma is poorly characterized.

Objective: To systematically assess the performance of commercially available GEP tests in patients with American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) stage I or stage II disease.

Data Sources: For this systematic review and meta-analysis, comprehensive searches of PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase, and Web of Science were conducted on December 12, 2019, for English-language studies of humans without date restrictions.

Number needed to biopsy ratio and diagnostic accuracy for melanoma detection.

Background: The number needed to biopsy (NNB) ratio for melanoma diagnosis is calculated by dividing the total number of biopsies by the number of biopsied melanomas. It is the inverse of positive predictive value (PPV), which is calculated by dividing the number of biopsied melanomas by the total number of biopsies. NNB is increasingly used as a metric to compare the diagnostic accuracy of health care practitioners.
