We propose that the combination of baseline CT and clinical factors can help identify those patients who may progress.

A fiber-based endoscopic imaging system combining narrowband red-green-blue (RGB) reflectance with optical coherence tomography (OCT) and autofluorescence imaging (AFI) has been developed. The system uses a submillimeter diameter rotary-pullback double-clad fiber imaging catheter for sample illumination and detection. The imaging capabilities of each modality are presented and demonstrated with images of a multicolored card, fingerprints, and tongue mucosa.

Hydrogen-plasma-induced magnetocrystalline anisotropy ordering in self-assembled magnetic nanoparticle monolayers.

Self-assembled two-dimensional arrays of either 14 nm hcp-Co or 6 nm ε-Co particle components were treated by hydrogen plasma for various exposure times. A change of hysteretic sample behavior depending on the treatment duration is reported, which can be divided in two time scales: oxygen reduction increases the particle magnetization during the first 20 min, which is followed by an alteration of the magnetic response shape. Background: Cell replacement therapy with stem cells able to differentiate into cardiomyocytes has been discussed as a method for remodeling damaged myocardium. A physiological or pathophysiological situation in which this phenomenon might be relevant is not known. We studied the origin of cardiomyocytes in myocardial biopsies of male patients that had undergone sex-mismatched cardiac transplantation to determine whether cells containing a Y chromosome (and therefore being of recipient origin) are able to differentiate into cardiomyocytes.

Open-ended interviews with mothers of newborns provided a list of basic concerns, which was then used to create a self-administered check-list. Eighty-four mothers of newborns revealed that their top three concerns were "feeling exhausted," "amount of time as a couple," and "body weight.

The traditional content of the well baby examination has changed to include more health screening, emotional support and educational input. It has been suggested that the well baby care should now be done by nurses. A marked remission was obtained by treatment with anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive therapy. It is pointed out that under the usual treatment when ulcers of the lower leg and other areas of the skin do not heal, after exclusion of malignancies, necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum or necrobiosis lipoidica granulomatosa must be considered, especially as prophylactic examinations may arise.
