Methods: First, we performed a retrospective chart review for all patients who underwent PD from 2007-2016 to identify incidence and risk factors associated with PMUs. Second, we analyzed follow up gastroscopies in all patients undergoing PD from 2007-2011 to identify the overall incidence of marginal ulcers.

Purpose: Circumportal pancreas is a rare congenital pancreatic anomaly with encasement of the portal vein and/or the superior mesenteric vein by pancreatic tissue. Methods: A retrospective analysis of patients who underwent a difficult hepaticojejunostomy without or with a T tube was performed.
Results: In 48% (55/114) of patients, a T tube was placed at the side of the hepaticojejunostomy; 52% (59/114) did not have a T tube.

Introduction: When patients who underwent a Whipple operation because of a tumour of the pancreas develop symptoms of chronic ileus several months after surgery, the most common cause is a relapse of tumour growth or a peritoneal carcinomatosis. In this paper we report that secondary amyloidosis of the small intestine can produce similar symptoms and has to be evaluated as a rare differential diagnosis in chronic ileus.
Case Reports: Three patients (2 men: 82, 70 years old and 1 woman 70 years old) were admitted to our hospital with symptoms of chronic ileus.
Background: Several global transcriptomic and proteomic approaches have been applied in order to obtain new molecular insights on skeletal myogenesis, but none has generated any specific data on glycogenome expression, and thus on the role of glycan structures in this process, despite the involvement of glycoconjugates in various biological events including differentiation and development. In the present study, a quantitative real-time RT-PCR technology was used to profile the dynamic expression of 375 glycogenes during the differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts into myotubes.
Results: Of the 276 genes expressed, 95 exhibited altered mRNA expression when C2C12 cells differentiated and 37 displayed more than 4-fold up- or down-regulations.
Background: Improving results have led to an extension of indications for re-resection of recurrent pancreatic carcinoma.
Methods: Among 410 patients who received surgery for histologically proven pancreatic cancer, 17 underwent re-resection for a suspected local recurrence and were evaluated for overall survival, clinicopathological and perioperative data.
Results: At the initial operation, resection was curative (R0/R1) in all 17 patients.
