Deciphering the enigmatic symptoms of Pancoast tumors: Navigating the complex landscape of pain management-A case report.

However, the direct relationship between copper and zinc levels and oxidative stress in the extracellular and intracellular space remains unclear. The presented study is focused on the determination of serum Zn and Cu levels, glutathione concentration and enzyme activity in three groups: patients diagnosed with endometrial cancer (EC), patients diagnosed with endometriosis (EM), and a healthy control group.

Radiofrequency denervation of the zygapophysial (facet) joints is a frequently performed procedure for chronic low back pain. However, cryoablation represents a novel therapeutic approach for this condition. We observed and analyzed 3 cases with confirmed positive lumbar facet joint syndrome.

After menopause, this advantage disappears, suggesting that sex hormones play a cardioprotective role. This study was aimed to assess on the activity of antioxidant enzymes in plasma and the respiratory function of isolated heart mitochondria after the induction of MI in rats after ovariectomy and estradiol benzoate supplementation.

The effect of humic acid in chronic deoxynivalenol intoxication.

Background: Epiduroscopy is a well-established diagnostic and to certain level therapeutic tool in complex situations, where conventional methods such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lack power or resolution to detect pathological changes. Such a situation is primarily failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) but also radicular pain without surgery. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of epiduroscopic treatment in patients with FBSS.

Retrospective assessment of specific effects of exposure of workers to PCBs in Slovakia.

Introduction And Objective: Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) have been used commercially since 1929 as dielectric and insulating non-flammable substances, additives for paints, etc. In Slovakia, 60 chemical production workers highly exposed to PCBs (mainly to Delor 103) were studied with duration of exposure ranging from 3 months to 19 years.

Material And Methods: Clinical examinations of skin, skin histology and laboratory tests concerning lipid metabolism, iron metabolism and levels of copper provided comparisons with a control group of healthy individuals and/or the upper limits of normal values.

Effects of Humic Acids in Chronic Lead Poisoning.

Chronic exposure to lead causes disruption to energy production mechanisms and tissue damage, in particular through its binding to thiol groups and competition for zinc binding sites. We investigated the possibility of preventing the consequences of chronic lead poisoning by administration of three different doses of humic acids (HAs) into feed with the aim of establishing an effective HA dose. During the 10-week experiment, a sub-lethal dose of lead acetate was given to rats during the first 5 weeks, with continuous administration of HA over 10 weeks.

A Randomized, Multicenter, Double-Blind, Parallel Pilot Study Assessing the Effect of Mechanical Adhesiolysis vs Adhesiolysis with Corticosteroid and Hyaluronidase Administration into the Epidural Space During Epiduroscopy.

Objective: Epiduroscopy is a proven method of diagnosis and treatment for chronic radicular pain after spinal surgery, which is known as failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS). The aim of the study was to compare the efficacy of drugs (the enzyme hyaluronidase and corticosteroid DEPO-Medrol) administrated into the epidural space during epiduroscopy, performed within the ventral and ventro-lateral epidural space with a focus on releasing foraminal adhesions.
