Quality of Life and Hormonal Impairment in Pediatric Patients With Craniopharyngiomas.

Introduction: Craniopharyngiomas (CP) are tumors in the sellar region that, despite a high survival rate, are associated with significant morbidity, including hypothalamic, hormonal, and visual dysfunction. This study aimed to assess the quality of life (QoL) in pediatric patients with CP and to evaluate its relationship with various factors, with a focus on the impact of endocrine dysfunction.

Methods: In this observational cross-sectional study, patients with CP aged between 0 and 18 years, currently followed up in a tertiary hospital by a multidisciplinary team, were included.

Multifocal Infantile Hepatic Hemangiomas Complicated by Consumptive Hypothyroidism: The Benefits of Early Diagnosis and Treatment.

Infantile hepatic hemangiomas (IHH) account for 12% of all childhood hepatic tumors. Most IHH are diagnosed within the first 6 months of life and involute spontaneously; however, some require medical treatment. The present report describes a case of multifocal IHH associated with subcutaneous and lingual hemangiomas, complicated by consumptive hypothyroidism and successfully managed with oral propranolol and thyroid replacement therapy, without documented adverse effects.

Neonatal Urinary Tract Infection and Renal Nodular Lesion: A Rare Case of Xanthogranulomatous Pyelonephritis.

Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XPN) is an uncommon variant of chronic pyelonephritis with a poorly understood pathogenesis and a challenging diagnosis. It is rare in pediatric patients, particularly in the neonatal period. We report the case of an 18-day-old female neonate admitted to the emergency room due to macroscopic hematuria and poor feeding.

Comparison between exercise performance in asthmatic children and healthy controls--Physical Activity Questionnaire application.

Background: The PAQ questionnaire (Physical Activity Questionnaire - Kowalski, Crocker, Donen) is a self-administered 7-day recall validated questionnaire that measures physical activity levels in young people. A final activity score is obtained (1 indicates low and 5 indicates high physical activity level). Our aim was to determine whether there was any difference between the level of physical activity of children with controlled allergic disease and healthy children.
