ι-Carrageenan nanocomposites for enhanced stability and oral bioavailability of curcumin.

Background: Carrageenan (CRN), a polygalactan consisting of 15 to 40% ester sulfate, is used in oral controlled-release technology due to its viscosity and large molecular weight. Curcumin (Cur) is a highly potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent against various diseases, such as tumors, liver disease, rheumatism, and Alzheimer's disease. Although Cur shows excellent effects in the body, it has major problems, such as poor solubility and low bioavailability in water.

Discriminant and criterion-related validity of a relative deprivation scale in a merger and acquisition context.

This study examined the discriminant and criterion-related validity of the Relative Deprivation Scale. The data were collected from 151 Korean employees who had recently experienced a merger and acquisition. The results of confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the two dimensions of relative deprivation (egoistic and fraternal relative deprivation) are clearly distinguishable from other conceptually related variables, such as negative affectivity, resistance to change, overall job dissatisfaction, and distributive justice.
