Synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using plant extracts has been proposed as a more advantageous and environmentally friendly alternative compared to existing physical/chemical methods. In this study, AgNPs were synthesized from silver nitrate using black mulberry (BM) extract. The biosynthesized AgNPs were characterized through an UV-visible spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, and transmission electron microscopy.

A 3D-printed bolus is being developed to deliver accurate doses to superficial cancers. In this study, flexible thermoplastic filaments, specifically PLA, TPU, PETG, and HIPS, were fabricated into boluses and then compared to commercial bolus for the variation of the dose elevation region of photon beams. The experimental results indicate that the maximum dose depth is similar, and the consistent trend of the percentage depth dose confirms the potential usage as a build-up bolus.

Avocado (Persea americana) contains a variety of physiological active substances such as polyphenol, which has excellent antioxidant properties. This study investigated the radioprotective effect of avocado peel extract on congenital malformations and on the behavior of Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Experimental animals were randomly classified into four groups: NC Group, normal control; PA Group, oral administration with avocado peel extract (200 mg/kg/day); IR Group, irradiation; and PA+IR Group, irradiation after orally administered with avocado peel extract.
