Map Space Modeling Method Reflecting Safety Margin in Coastal Water Based on Electronic Chart for Path Planning.

Map space composition is the first step in ship route planning. In this study, a map modeling method for path planning is proposed. This method incorporates the safety margin based on the theory of geographic space existing in coastal waters, maneuvering space according to ship characteristics, and the psychological buffer space of a ship navigator.

Influence of hydroquinone content on thermotropic liquid crystalline copolymers and nanocomposites: thermo-mechanical properties and morphology.

Thermotropic liquid crystalline copolyesters (Co-TLCPs) were synthesized by varying the hydroquinone (HQ) molar ratio from 1-5 with respect to the 2,5-diethoxyterephthalic acid (ETA) monomer. The thermal properties and liquid crystalline mesophases of the synthesized Co-TLCP were investigated. All of the Co-TLCPs synthesized using a HQ molar ratio of 1-5 showed a nematic liquid crystalline phase.

Scanning electron microscopic observations on the surface structure of the tick Boophilus microplus(Canestrini, 1887) female specimens.

Boophilus microplus (Canestrini, 1887) female specimens were subjected to scanning electron microscopy for the observation of surface fine structures. Morphological characteristics observed were summarized as follows: The palpi were wider than long, and compressed, ridged dorsally and laterally. There were usually four pairs of ventro-internal setae on the articles.

The surface fine structures of Ixodes persulcatus (Schulze, 1930) male and female specimens were observed by means of a scanning electron microscope. A brief review on the biology of the ticks and their disease relationships was also presented. The sexual dimorphism of the specimen was marked; the male was quite smaller than the female.

A Study On The Parasitic Helminths Of Domestic Duck(Anas Platyrhynchos Var. Domestica Linnaeus) In Korea.

During February 1982 to Septemner 1983, a total of 105 domestic ducks (Anas platyrhynchos var. domestica Linnaeus) were collected from Ichon Gun, Puasn City, Chunchon City, Yanggu Gun, Taejeon City and unknown areas in Korea. In the results, six trematode and one nematode species of helminth parasites were obtained and described as follows: Amphimerus anatis Yamaguti, 1933, Echinostoma miyagawai Ishii, 1932, Echinochasmus japonicus Tanabe, 1926, Cryptocotyle sp.

The intestinal lesions were studied in dog metagonimiasis by reinfection. The metacercariae of M. yokogawai were collected from naturally infected sweetfish.

[Protozoan Infection Of The Domestic Animals And Poultry In Korea].

Researches in veterinary protozoology until the end of World War II were carried out entirely by Japanese workers such as Danagga, Yamada, Yuhoba and Isshiki. After the Korean war, investigations have been made by several Korean researchers such as Lee's, Son, Joen and Jang. The total species and genera of veterinary protozoa reported by authors up to date were 19 genera and 59 species except the commensal ciliates.

[Epizootiological study of theileriasis in Korea: Prevalence of the bovine theileriasis in relation to its vector, Haemaphysalis (Kaiseriana) longicornis Neumann. 1901].

Investigations of some problems related to the bovine theileriasis and its vector have been undertaken in Korea. Owing to the nation-wide investment of dairy farming, hundreds of milk cattle were imported from foreign countries during the last l0 years. This caused some problems for the imported dairy cattle in terms of cattle piroplasmosis, from which native Korean cattle are immune.

[Study on the Eurytrema pancreaticum: II. Life Cycle].

The life cycle of Eurytrema pancreaticum has been studied locally at Chejudo (Quelpart Island) in Korea, and found a land snail, Acusta despecta Gray served as the first intermediate host of the pancreatic fluke. The second intermediate host of the fluke also has been surveyed there, the tettigoniid grasshoppers, Conocephalus maculatus Le Guillon and C. gladiatius Redtenbacher.
