Objective: To describe, quantify and explain the variability in subjective cognitive complaints and subjective cognition following electroconvulsive therapy for depression.
Objective: Best Case/Worst Case (BC/WC) is a communication tool designed to promote shared decision-making for high-risk procedures near the end of life. This study aimed to increase scalability of a BC/WC training program and measure its impact on surgeon confidence in and perceived importance of the methodology.
Design: A prospective cohort pre-post study; December 2018 to January 2019.
Purpose: In December 2016, 49% of patients admitted to inpatient oncology services at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Shadyside Hospital had cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) status discussion documentation before discharge. The aim of this project was to improve the rate of CPR status conversations.
Methods: During Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle 1, a stakeholder workgroup was formed in January 2017 by oncology faculty, fellows, nurses, advance practice providers (APPs), medicine housestaff, and palliative care faculty.
Objective: Determine predictors of inpatient palliative care (PC) consultation and characterize PC referral patterns with respect to recommendations from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
Methods: Women with a gynecologic malignancy admitted to the gynecologic oncology service 3/2012-8/2012 were identified. Demographic information, disease and treatment details and date of death were abstracted from medical records.
