Objectives: To recognize that thyroid nodules with atypia of undetermined significance/follicular lesion of undetermined significance (AUS/FLUS; Bethesda III) have different risks of malignancy based on genetic mutation and to consider molecular testing of nodules with AUS/FLUS to help avoid unnecessary morbidity or cost.
Study Design: Retrospective cohort study.
Setting: Multiple locations within Southern California Permanente Medical Group.
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided fine needle biopsy (FNB) and fine needle aspiration (FNA) are established methods in tissue acquisition. A new fork-tip FNB needle has been used to obtain core tissue samples. We compared the performance of the FNB using fork-tip needles with that of the FNA using conventional needles in patients who had solid neoplastic lesions within and around the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

The DuploSpray MIS™ spray system allows thin, even application over a larger surface area. We use sprayed Tisseel as the sole agent to control hemorrhage and seal the renal collecting system after severe porcine laparoscopic partial nephrectomy.

Case: A 55-year-old man presented with a history of fever for several months, associated with night sweats, involuntary 20lb weight loss, progressive fatigue, weakness, worsening abdominal distention, shortness of breath, and diffuse lymphadenopathy.
Context: Placental mesenchymal dysplasia is characterized by placentomegaly and may be mistaken for molar pregnancy both clinically and macroscopically because of the presence of "grapelike vesicles." It may be associated with a completely normal fetus, a fetus with growth restriction, or a fetus with features of Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome.
Objective: To review the etiology, molecular pathology, gross and microscopic features, clinical presentation, complications, and differential diagnosis of placental mesenchymal dysplasia.
We report a case of Insulinoma, a rare neuroendocrine tumor with an incidence of approximately four per 5 million. This case demonstrates the characteristic clinical, biochemical and histological features of an insulinoma, a rare benign neuroendocrine tumor where early recognition is important to ensure proper surgical treatment and prevent serious adverse consequences.
