Disparities in cervical cancer (CC) screening exist within racial/ethnic minority and immigrant groups. However, few studies have explored the joint influence of race/ethnicity and immigrant status on screening, and the disparities that have been identified by existing studies remain incompletely explained. This study aims to identify the joint influence of race/ethnicity and immigrant status on CC screening and elucidate the barriers contributing to identified disparities.

Purpose Of Review: T-cell lymphomas (TCLs) are a group of rare subtypes of non-Hodgkin lymphoma derived from mature T-lymphocytes. Recent updates in lymphoma classification based on the cell-of-origin pathogenesis have shed new light on TCL epidemiology and outcomes. Contemporary regional consortia and international studies, including those conducted recently in Asia and South America, have provided an updated delineation of the major subtypes across various global regions.

Given the widespread impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on human health, medical schools have been under increasing pressure to provide comprehensive planetary health education to their students. However, the logistics of integrating such a wide-ranging and multi-faceted topic into existing medical curricula can be daunting. In this article, we present the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University as an example of a student-driven, bottom-up approach to the development of a planetary health education program.

Purpose: To investigate whether attenuated Toxoplasma is efficacious against solid tumors of pancreatic cancer and whether attenuated Toxoplasma improves the antitumor activity of αPD-1 antibody on pancreatic cancer.

Methods: The therapeutic effects of attenuated Toxoplasma NRTUA strain monotherapy and combination therapy of NRTUA with anti-PD-1 antibody on PDAC tumor volume and tumor weight of Pan02 tumor-bearing mice were investigated. We characterized the effects of combination therapy of NRTUA with anti-PD-1 antibody on tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and tumor-specific IFN-γ by using immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and ELISA.

The heme-regulated eIF2alpha kinase (HRI) phosphorylates the alpha subunit of the translation initiation factor 2, which plays an important role in translational regulation during heme deficiency. HRI is expressed mainly in erythroid cells. To elucidate the mechanisms that regulate the tissue-specific expression of the mouse HRI gene, we have cloned and characterized its 5' flanking region.
