In this follow-up study the authors examine the impact of two projects that provided volunteer practitioners with extensive training in trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). The objective was to gain empirical data about clinicians' knowledge of the model and implementation 10-15 months after training. The 30 respondents achieved a mean knowledge score of 80% for eight hypothetical clinical vignettes, positive results for clients' attendance at initial appointments, parental involvement, and low dropout rates, but somewhat lower use of child and parent trauma work.

In this article the authors report on a collaborative effort to disseminate trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) with community practitioners (N = 33). They discuss the evolution and planning of this local initiative and the research component to assess practitioners' self-efficacy at the basic and advanced levels of training. Self-efficacy scores increased significantly and were positively associated with practice experience.

In the evolution of rape crisis services, tensions persist between rape crisis service programs and mental health professionals. Changes within these programs and professions have brought the embedded concerns to the surface, but they remain unexamined and unresolved. Recent research on rape trauma and survivors' mental health needs has added to tensions by calling for description and evaluation of rape crisis services and timely psychological treatment for survivors.
