Background: There is sparse literature demonstrating the relationship between lower limb pediatric idiopathic rotational malalignment (IRM) and patient-reported outcomes measurement information system (PROMIS) scores. Our goal is to determine and quantify the amount that IRM deformities, as measured with the 3D gait analysis, affect childrens' pain interference, mobility, and peer relationship PROMIS domains. Secondary outcomes include investigating the potential relationships between IRM and various subgroups (Pediatric Outcomes Data Collection Instrument (PODCI), gender, Body Mass Index (BMI), femur Versus tibia).

Internet based patient education improves informed consent for elective orthopaedic surgery: a randomized controlled trial.

Background: Obtaining informed consent is an essential step in the surgical pathway. Providing adequate patient education to enable informed decision making is a continued challenge of contemporary surgical practice. This study investigates whether the use of a patient information website, to augment patient education and informed consent for elective orthopaedic procedures is an effective measure.

However, information on the Internet is mostly unregulated, ranging from factually correct to misleading or contradictory information. The objective of this study was to determine the quality of information available on World Wide Web on the topic of bunions.
