The effective dose is a quantity used in clinical practice for statistical evaluation of the radiation dose of patients undergoing different types of examinations. Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a specific examination whose calculated effective dose may be subject to several biases. For this reason, it is important to consider factors (different examination techniques, heart rate and patient habitus) that may influence its resulting value.

The aim of this case report is to show the capability of cardiac computed tomography (CT) in combination with dual-energy CT (DECT) delayed myocardial enhancement to support diagnostic decision making in the complicated differential diagnosis of true versus false left ventricle (LV) aneurysm, as well as provide additional information that can influence overall patient outcome. We present a 71-year-old obese patient with metabolic syndrome, stable chronic coronary syndrome with three-vessel disease, and recent chest discomfort. His coronary angiogram showed no significant coronary artery stenosis, but suspicion of LV apical pseudoaneurysm was expressed.

Eight native isolates of the entomopathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae (Metschnikoff) Sorokin were obtained by monitoring soils cultivated in a conventional manner. These isolates were compared in three areas: (a) conidial germination, (b) radial growth and sporulation and (c) ability of conidia to infect Tenebrio molitor larvae. All bioassays were carried out at constant temperatures of 10, 15, and 20 °C.
