Objectives: Total tumor volume (TTV) is associated with overall and recurrence-free survival in patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases (CRLM). However, the labor-intensive nature of such manual assessments has hampered the clinical adoption of TTV as an imaging biomarker. This study aimed to develop and externally evaluate a CRLM auto-segmentation model on CT scans, to facilitate the clinical adoption of TTV.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between radiomics imaging features and the genetic mutation status (KRAS mutation versus no mutation) in a large multicenter dataset of patients with CRLM and validate these findings in an external dataset. Patients with initially unresectable CRLM treated with systemic therapy of the randomized controlled CAIRO5 trial (NCT02162563) were included.

Biologic tumor characteristics differ on the basis of the mutation variant. mutations are known to influence patient prognosis and are used as predictive biomarker for treatment decisions.

In the postoperative setting interpretation of CT findings, such as air and fluid collections, may be challenging. Establishment of a scoring system that incorporates CT findings to diagnose anastomotic leakage could assist radiologists and surgeons in the postoperative phase.

This review provides an overview on the value of radiomics in predicting response to treatment in patients with gastrointestinal tumors.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted, according to PRISMA guidelines.

Background: First line chemotherapy is effective in 75 to 80% of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). We studied whether microRNA (miR) expression profiles can predict treatment outcome for first line fluoropyrimidine containing systemic therapy in patients with mCRC.
Methods: MiR expression levels were determined by next generation sequencing from snap frozen tumor samples of 88 patients with mCRC.
The aims of this prospective diagnostic evaluation study were (i) to estimate the inter-observer agreement and reproducibility of real-time sonoelastography and real-time gray-scale ultrasound in the measurement of uterine and fibroid volumes; (ii) to evaluate the agreement between real-time gray-scale ultrasound, sonoelastography and magnetic resonance imaging with respect to these outcomes; and (iii) to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of sonoelastography in the diagnosis of uterine pathology on stored sonoelastography and gray-scale cine loops. Women without a history of uterine pathology and with the diagnosis intrauterine fibroids or adenomyosis were included. All participants underwent gray-scale ultrasound, sonoelastography and magnetic resonance imaging.

Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome (BHD) is one of the hereditary renal cancer syndromes. As the histological subtype and clinical presentation in BHD are highly variable, this syndrome is easily missed.

Based on the follow-up results of thoracic imaging in six patients with BHD, we hypothesize that decreased potential for stretching of the cysts' wall and extensive contact with the visceral pleura are probably responsible for rupture of the cyst wall resulting in increased risk for pneumothorax.

As the timely diagnosis of this progression allows potentially curative local treatment, an optimal follow-up imaging strategy is essential. PET-MRI is a one potential imaging modality, combining the advantages of PET and MRI.

Clinical manifestations of BHD include skin fibrofolliculomas, renal cell cancer, lung cysts and (recurrent) spontaneous pneumothorax (SP). All clinical manifestations usually present in adults > 20 years of age.

Previously, we proposed renal imaging for FH mutation carriers starting at the age of 20 years. However, recently an 18-year-old woman from a Dutch family with HLRCC presented with metastatic renal cancer.

BHD is characterized by multiple fibrofolliculomas/trichodiscomas, lung cysts, pneumothorax, and renal cell cancer. Germline FLCN mutations can be detected in most but not all BHD families.

Procedure: Chest CT and whole body FDG-PET of 69 HNSCC patients with high-risk factors who underwent screening for distant metastases were analyzed. All scans were independently read by two experienced radiologists or nuclear physicians who were blinded to the other examinations and follow-up results.
Objective: The objective of this study was to assess the interobserver agreement between on-call radiology residents and radiology specialists in the evaluation of pulmonary embolism (PE) using computed tomographic pulmonary angiography (CTPA).
Materials And Methods: Single center, prospective cohort study of 119 consecutive inpatients and outpatients with clinically suspected PE in whom CTPA was performed during out-of-office hours and weekends. The on-call radiology resident interpreted the CTPA for the presence of PE.
Aim: To evaluate computed tomography (CT) findings, useful to suggest the presence of refractory celiac disease (RCD) and enteropathy associated T cell lymphoma (EATL).
Methods: Coeliac disease (CD) patients were divided into two groups. Group I: uncomplicated CD (n = 14) and RCD type I (n = 10).
The clinical work-up of patients with presumed pancreaticobiliary obstruction is usually straightforward including laboratory investigation, abdominal ultrasound and computer tomography. Ultrasound and computer tomography may, however, yield inconclusive findings regarding underlying cause. We report a case series (n = 10) demonstrating the usefulness of endoscopic ultrasound in the work-up of patients with inconclusive ultrasound and computer tomography findings, clinically suspected of pancreaticobiliary cancer.
