Objectives: To evaluate the implant survival rate, periodontal and radiographic parameters of non-submerged screw implants with two different surfaces (TPS and SLA) in periodontally non-susceptible patients (NSP) and in patients with chronic adult periodontitis (CAP) or with generalized aggressive periodontitis (GAP).
Material And Methods: In 110 healthy partially edentulous subjects, 68 patients with CAP and 16 patients with GAP, a total of 513 implants were installed and followed for on average 48.1+/-25.
Purpose: This study of fixed partial dentures (FPDs) evaluated the long-term efficacy and determined frequencies and causes of failures.
Materials And Methods: A total of 322 FPDs in 193 patients, fabricated at an undergraduate university clinic, were evaluated over a 20-year period. All patients were invited to participate in a supportive maintenance program.
Purpose: This study of full crowns investigated long-term survival in relationship to biologic and technical variables.
Materials And Methods: A total of 1,037 full crowns in 456 patients, made in an undergraduate university clinic, were evaluated over an 18-year period. All patients were offered a supportive maintenance program.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the early colonization of non-submerged implants over a 6-month period in partially edentulous patients treated for advanced aggressive periodontal disease. In 22 patients treated for advanced aggressive periodontitis and in a supportive maintenance program for a period between 12 and 240 months at implant surgery, a total of 68 non-submerged dental implants were installed. Patients had a plaque score below 20%, and less than 20% of the pockets around the teeth were bleeding on probing (BOP).

Material And Methods: Sixteen consecutive non-submerged implants (ITI Straumann) were installed in narrow alveolar ridges in 13 patients (age range: 25-61 years). All patients were non-smokers.
Background: Periodontal scaling procedures commonly require some kind of anesthesia. From the patient's perspective, the choice of anesthetic method is a trade-off between the degree of anesthesia and accepting the side effects. The present study evaluates the preferences for a novel non-injection anesthetic product (a gel, containing lidocaine 25 mg/g plus prilocaine 25 mg/g and thermosetting agents) versus injection anesthesia (lidocaine 2% adrenaline) in conjunction with scaling and/or root planing (SRP).

In narrow alveolar ridges, dehiscences can occur at the time of implant placement. This report describes several cases in which buccal dehiscences at one-stage, nonsubmerged ITI implants were covered with deproteinized bovine bone mineral (Bio-Oss) and a nonresorbable e-PTFE membrane. The dehiscences ranged from 5 to 8.

Case reports on cervical root resorption in patients with complete cleft of the lip and palate are scarce. Moreover, cervical root resorption is sometimes diagnosed several years after a combined orthodontic and surgical therapy in patients with cleft. In this article a review of the literature is presented, and a description and the management of the cervical lesion is provided.
