Background: New Zealand (NZ) has one of the world's highest rates of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), however available data are limited to southern, urban regions.
Aims: To determine the incidence and prevalence of IBD in the Manawatū region of NZ.
Methods: Patients in the Manawatū region, with a diagnosis of IBD made between 2011 and 2015 were identified.
Background And Aims: Patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) often have subjective symptoms for months or years prior to their diagnosis. Blood tests taken prior to diagnosis may provide objective evidence of duration of pre-diagnosis disease. We aim to describe the pre-diagnosis laboratory pattern of patients with IBD.
