Lisdexamfetamine's Efficacy in Treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD): A Meta-Analysis and Review.

Lisdexamfetamine dimesylate, a prodrug stimulant, appears to effectively treat Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adults. However, an analysis of the treatment effects of the two subscales (inattentiveness and hyperactivity) within the ADHD Rating Scale-IV (ADHD-RS-IV) has not yet been done to determine if clinical significance may be attributed to either one. Nor has there been a meta-analysis of the individual doses of lisdexamfetamine dimesylate.

The gaming of concussions: a unique intervention in postconcussion syndrome.

Objective: To present the case of 2 adolescent high school student-athletes who developed postconcussion syndrome with protracted and limiting visual complaints that markedly affected academic, social, and athletic activity for a year after the onset of symptoms. Both had significant improvement soon after a unique intervention was administered.

Diagnosis of upper extremity injuries depends on knowledge of basic anatomy and biomechanics of the hand and wrist. The wrist is composed of two rows of carpal bones. Flexor and extensor tendons cross the wrist to allow function of the hand and digits.

Respiration of as a function of intracellular substrate concentration.

A kinetic method to measure the intracellular concentration of respiratory substrates in short-term starvation-enrichment experiments is proposed. Samples of bacterial suspension from steady-state chemostat cultures were subjected to 25 min starvation, followed by pulse addition of [C]glucose. Residual substrate utilization rates and respiration rates (uptake of dissolved O) before and after amendment were recorded.
