Article Synopsis
- - This study aimed to see if the patterns of proximal humerus fractures (using AO/OTA and Neer classification) could predict patient outcomes after surgery with locked plates, following 213 patients over 12 years.
- - The results showed no significant differences in functional outcomes, measured by the DASH questionnaire, based on fracture classification at least 12 months post-surgery; however, more severe fractures were associated with reduced shoulder movement.
- - Overall, while the classification of fractures gives some insight into shoulder range of motion, it does not effectively predict functional success, healing time, or complications after surgical treatment of proximal humerus fractures.
