Gastrointestinal stromal tumors, commonly known as GISTs, are non-epithelial gastrointestinal neoplasms seen with increasing frequency in clinical practice. These tumors were formerly classified as leiomyoblastomas or leiomyosarcomas. Recent advances in immunohistochemistry have identified gastrointestinal stromal tumors as a unique entity.

Patients with biliary dyskinesia have biliary colic, a normal gallbladder ultrasound, and a gallbladder ejection fraction typically less than 35%. We report a retrospective review of 70 patients with biliary dyskinesia who underwent cholecystectomy. Seventy-seven percent of the patients were women.

Fournier's gangrene is an infectious necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum and genital regions. It is a synergistic infection caused by a mixture of aerobic and anaerobic organisms. The mortality rate from this infection ranges from 0 to 67 per cent.
