Objective: To assess the association of successful CTO-PCI with quality of life by analyzing the relevant domains of the Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ).
Data Sources: PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Cochrane databases were searched to identify randomized trials and observational studies specifically addressing quality of life domains of SAQ from January 2010 to June 2022.
Background: Intracoronary (IC) imaging for percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is associated with better patient outcomes and carries a class IIA guideline recommendation, but it remains rarely used. We sought to characterize hospital-level variability in IC imaging for PCI in the United States and to identify factors that may explain this variability.
Methods: Patients who underwent PCI, with or without IC imaging, in the Nationwide Readmissions Database (2016-2020) were included.

Background: Risk stratification before chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is important to inform procedural planning as well as patients and their families. We sought to externally validate the PROGRESS-CTO complication risk scores in the OPEN-CTO registry.
Methods: OPEN-CTO is a prospective registry of 1000 consecutive CTO PCIs performed at 12 experienced US centers using the hybrid algorithm.
Objective: Determine the utility of routine esophagograms after hiatus hernia repair and its impact on patient outcomes.

Objective: During the current pandemic, COVID-19 has been detected in patients using real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) that confirms the presence of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. The demand for increased testing, particularly for asymptomatic individuals required alternative approaches to single-patient RT-PCR testing, such as pooling.
Methods: This study explored the impact of dilution on the detectability of SARS-CoV-2 in asymptomatic patients using RT-PCR and demonstrated that pooling can be effective in low prevalence populations.

Aims: Chronic total occlusion (CTO) percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been shown to reduce angina and improve quality of life, but the frequency of new or residual angina after CTO PCI and its relationship with titration of anti-anginal medications (AAMs) has not been described.
Methods And Results: Among consecutive CTO PCI patients treated at 12 US centres in the OPEN CTO registry, angina was assessed 6 months after the index PCI using the Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ) Angina Frequency scale (a score <100 defined new or residual angina). We then compared the proportion of patients with AAM escalation (defined as an increase in the number or dosage of AAMs between discharge and follow-up) between those with and without 6-month angina.
