TRPV1's role in physiological systems is often studied by activating it with externally perfused ligands; however, this approach is plagued by poor spatiotemporal resolution. Lipid agonists are insoluble in physiological buffers and can permeate membranes to accumulate nonselectively inside cells, where they can have off-target effects.

Research Question: What is the frequency, format, goals, and content of PIC between CCM/PCCM applicants and program directors? What is the impact of PIC on applicant and program rank order lists (ROLs)?
Study Design And Methods: CCM/PCCM applicants and program directors were separately surveyed after the 2022-2023 National Resident Matching Program Specialty Match.
This paper publishes the sixty-nine surviving very personal letters that Reichsgraf von Rumford wrote to Viscountess Palmerston after they met in Milan in 1793. The letters draw attention to the private domestic spaces of science and the critical importance of the aristocracy in scientific developments, topics that have both received some discussion recently. They were, however, not written with the purpose of providing historical evidence, but as part of a decade-long friendship which the letters trace, revealing, among other things, Rumford's other amours.

Methods: We conducted a qualitative case study that used the framework method to understand what and how core principles from guidelines for interprofessional education (IPE) and simulation-based education (SBE) were implemented in existing in situ IPSE programs. We observed simulation sessions and interviewed facilitators and directors at seven programs.
Light-sensitive small molecules can be applied to control cell signaling with enhanced spatiotemporal precision, and their accuracy in intact tissues like the brain can be further enhanced by tethering them to genetically encoded protein tags. Coined "photopharmacology," this approach can acutely manipulate neurotransmission through specific receptor pathways. However, it remains underutilized in neuroscience due to a lack of hardware to deliver fluids and light to rodent deep-brain structures during freely moving behavior.

Due to the diversity observed in FAA structure and pharmacology, coupled with the expression of at least 3 different cannabinoid G protein-coupled receptors in primary and model β-cells, our understanding of their role is limited by our inability to control their actions in time and space. Cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2) is a promising target for the treatment of neuroinflammation and other diseases. However, a lack of understanding of its complex signaling in cells and tissues complicates the therapeutic exploitation of CB2 as a drug target. Integrins and maternal extracellular matrix (ECM) molecules are major contributors to stable adhesion at implantation, and the β3 integrin subunit (ITGB3) is implicated in the adhesion cascade for implantation in several species including the sheep. We blocked mRNA translation for trophectoderm-expressed ITGB3 by infusing morpholino antisense oligonucleotides into the uterine lumen of pregnant ewes on Day 9 to assess effects on conceptus elongation, and on Day 16 to assess effects on early placental development in sheep.

In this paper, we report how the reversible photoswitching of synthetic lipid bilayer membranes made from azobenzene-containing phosphatidylcholine (-) molecules (photolipids) leads to increased membrane permeability. We show that cell-sized, giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs) prepared from photolipids display leakage of fluorescent dyes after irradiation with UV-A and visible light.
