Multidisciplinary Surgical Care for a Cervical Esophageal Duplication Cyst.

We present a case of a three-month-old male who presented with a cervical esophageal duplication cyst requiring early surgical intervention. The patient presented with feeding difficulties, poor weight gain, and respiratory distress. Due to the position of the cervical esophageal duplication cyst and airway compression, this unique case required a multidisciplinary surgical approach involving both otolaryngology and cardiothoracic surgery.

Background: Respiratory distress is a frequent occurrence in neonates, typically caused by a variety of pulmonary conditions. Accurate diagnosis of the cause is vital to appropriately treat neonates and prevent long-term complications. Neck masses rarely cause respiratory distress in this setting but should be considered when clinical signs indicate.

Development of Human-Derived Cell Culture Lines for Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis.

Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is mainly caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) 6 and 11. While various adjuvant therapies have been reported, no effective therapy has been documented to universally "cure" this disease. In the era of precision medicine, it would be valuable to identify effective intervention based on drug sensitivity testing and/or molecular analysis.
