Although childhood maltreatment is associated with externalizing symptoms, not all individuals with these experiences develop externalizing behaviors and some exhibit positive adjustment. To address this multifinality, we used latent growth curve modeling to identify trajectories of (a) externalizing symptoms and (b) subjective wellbeing from late adolescence through young adulthood, determine whether types of childhood maltreatment and domains of executive functioning (EF) are associated with initial levels and growth (slopes) of externalizing symptoms or subjective wellbeing, and investigate whether EF moderates these relations. We provide suggestions for future work.
Recent Findings: Meta-analytic reviews of effectiveness studies suggest that outcomes comparable to those of efficacy studies can be achieved in community settings, particularly when in-session exposures occur.

To address the unique behavioral health challenges facing military-connected children (MCC) during parental deployment and reintegration, we developed a low-cost, low-burden school-based intervention, Staying Strong With Schools (SSWS). SSWS builds upon best educational practice by formalizing relationships between administrators, guidance staff, teachers, and parents to enhance social connection to support psychosocial functioning of MCC. Over the past decade, the use of integrative health modalities, such as mind-body interventions, art therapy, nutrition, and exercise, to treat stress-related mental health conditions, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), in military and veteran populations has been increasing. The use of integrative therapies for PTSD provides options for veterans who are not interested in traditional modalities, have limited access to traditional treatments, or are seeking a more comprehensive approach to managing their PTSD or subthreshold symptoms. These therapies show promise for improving overall well-being and comorbid conditions with PTSD, such as pain or migraines, but yield mixed data for PTSD symptoms.

Flow phantom experiments were performed to investigate the suitability for combining multi-beam data to achieve enhanced microvascular imaging. To our surprise, the highly variable spot sizes (ranging from 13 to 77 μm) encountered in high numerical aperture multi-beam OCT system imaging the same target provided reasonably uniform Doppler variance and speckle variance responses as functions of flow velocity, which formed the basis for combining them to obtain better microvascular imaging without scanning penalty.
