Background And Purpose: The similarities in biology, treatment regimens and outcome between the different human papillomavirus (HPV) associated squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) allow for extrapolation of results generated from one SC tumor type to another. In HPV associated cancers, HPV is integrated into the tumor genome and can consequently be detected in the circulating fragments of the tumor DNA. Thus, measurement of HPV in the plasma is a surrogate for circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) and holds promise as a clinically relevant biomarker in HPV associated cancers.

Hypothetical axions provide a compelling explanation for dark matter and could be emitted from the hot solar interior. The CERN Axion Solar Telescope has been searching for solar axions via their back conversion to x-ray photons in a 9-T 10-m long magnet directed toward the Sun. Preoperative virtual surgical planning and the use of 3D-printed patient-specific models and cutting guides are increasingly being used in the reconstruction of mandibular defects with a free bone flap. This technology offers several advantages over conventional surgery, such as reduced operating time, reduced bone flap ischaemia time, and the ability to perform more complex and precise reconstructions. This review presents the evidence supporting 3D-assisted surgery for mandibular defect reconstruction and discusses the utilisation of commercial vendors versus in-house 3D-printing solutions.

Despite the crucial role of microbial community composition in the quality and stability of seafood, little emphasis has been given to the microbiota profile of sea urchin gonads. This study investigates the microbial quality and community composition of sea urchin gonads (Echinus esculentus) as a function of harvesting season (autumn, winter, spring, and summer) and location (one site proximal to urban activity areas while the other is located in open water close to the coastline). Significant season-dependent variations were found in psychrotrophic and aerobic plate counts, with higher counts in summer, followed by autumn, spring, and winter.

Until recently, the identification of the species of origin for skin and fur materials used in the production of archaeological clothing has been based on the analysis of macro- and microscopic morphological features and on the traditional knowledge of Indigenous groups. This approach, however, is not always applicable due to the deterioration of the archaeological objects. Paleoproteomics was used as an alternative approach to identify the species of origin of fifteen samples of various tissues from approximately 600-year-old garments found in Nuulliit, northern Greenland.

This study aimed to characterize Echinus esculentus gonads in terms of biometric parameters and nutritional quality at two sites in Mid-Norway at four different seasons. The chemical contamination of the gonads was also investigated for the first time through the evaluation of 28 macro- and trace elements and 32 components from the emerging and persistent group per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). The spawning period was determined in summer, given that the gonad index was the lowest in this season for both sites.

Human genome-wide association studies (GWAS) suggest a functional role for central glutamate receptor signaling and plasticity in body weight regulation. Here, we use UK Biobank GWAS summary statistics of body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage (BF%) to identify genes encoding proteins known to interact with postsynaptic α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid (AMPA) and -methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) receptors. While loss-of-function (LoF) variants in KCNQ2 are associated with a spectrum of neonatal-onset epilepsies, gain-of-function (GoF) variants cause a more complex phenotype that precludes neonatal-onset epilepsy. In the present work, the clinical features of three patients carrying a de novo KCNQ2 Y141N (n ​= ​1) or G239S variant (n ​= ​2) respectively, are described. All three patients had a mild global developmental delay, with prominent language deficits, and strong activation of interictal epileptic activity during sleep.

The aim of this study was to consider the relationships among the autonomy support an athlete perceives from their coach, the three basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence, and relatedness), the psychological motivational climate of the team (a task or ego climate), and the athlete's motivational orientation (ego or task involvement). My three hypotheses were as follows: autonomy support from a coach will have an impact on motivational involvement, all three basic needs will have an impact on motivational involvement, and motivational involvement will be explained by the motivational climate.
