Researchers are still trying to achieve desirable results while treating actual wastewater at the field size when scaling up a microbial fuel cell (MFC). This pilot-scale project aimed to create a decentralised system for treating domestic wastewater and concurrent energy generation that may be used as a model for the decentralisation process.
