Threatened miscarriage is a common complication of early pregnancy characterized by symptoms of vaginal bleeding with/without abdominal cramps/pain in the first trimester. Progestogens are often administered for management of this condition. Presented herein is the protocol of an ongoing, multicentric clinical trial to investigate the efficacy and safety of micronized progesterone (natural progestogen) compared to dydrogesterone (synthetic isomer of progesterone).

Aim: To compare the sealing ability of three different materials when used as postendodontic restoration barriers to coronal microleakage in root-filled teeth.

Materials And Methods: In the present study, 60 single-rooted mandibular premolars with single canals were selected. After endodontic treatment was done with protaper files, they were divided into three groups of 20 teeth each, which were restored with Zirconomer (Group I), Hi-Dense (Group II), and Surefil composite (Group III), respectively.

Article Synopsis
  • Dental implants are a preferred treatment option due to their reliability, but they can develop peri-implant diseases like mucositis and peri-implantitis, leading to bone loss and potential implant failure over time.
  • The study aimed to identify risk factors linked to these diseases and used a risk assessment model to evaluate patients who had implants for at least a year.
  • Results indicated that most implants (15 out of 21) had a low risk of disease, especially those with peri-implant mucositis, while a significant number (6 implants) were at moderate risk, particularly for peri-implantitis, highlighting the importance of early detection and monitoring.

Environmental concerns due to fossil fuel usage has turned the research interest towards biomass and bioenergy field. Renewable biomass such as microalgae provides numerous advantages as they can grow in wastewater; sequester carbon dioxide, economical and eco-friendly. In this study, effect of pretreatment of microalgae (Scenedesmus obliquus) biomass using post-hydrothermal liquefaction wastewater (PHWW) for bio-oil production through hydrothermal liquefaction at a temperature of 300 °C was studied.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) occurs during pregnancy which affects mother, fetus, and outcome of pregnancy, hence early detection is necessary. The objective of this study was to ascertain the validity of glucometer over standard biochemical testing for detection of GDM and to estimate prevalence of GDM and its associated risk factors.

Materials And Methods: A hospital-based study was conducted at Antenatal clinics of Obstetrics Department, tertiary care hospital, based on the "National Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of GDM.
