Thyroid storm is an acute life-threatening complication of hyperthyroidism that presents with multisystem involvement. It can be precipitated by radioiodine therapy in high-risk patients. It has become less frequent, as current therapeutic approaches (antithyroid drugs and beta blockers) prevent the impact of thyroid hormones on the cardiovascular and central nervous systems.

Despite this population's diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and immigration backgrounds, little is known about the within-group disparities in breast cancer stages at diagnosis. This study aims to identify AA&NHPI subgroups at heightened risk for advanced breast cancer by analyzing detailed incidence rates and diagnostic stages across these diverse subgroups.

We aimed to present and interpret cancer incidence and mortality statistics in the 11 constituent countries of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Viet Nam to inform research priorities, health services, and cancer policy.
Methods: The number of new incident cases and deaths for all cancers combined and for leading cancers were extracted from the GLOBOCAN 2022 database developed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer for the 11 countries in southeast Asia.

Neurodegenerative diseases, characterized by progressive neuronal loss and cognitive impairments, pose a significant global health challenge. This study explores the potential of nanotherapeutics as a promising approach to enhance drug delivery across physiological barriers, particularly the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and blood-cerebrospinal fluid barrier (B-CSFB). By employing nanoparticles, this research aims to address critical challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Huntington's diseases.

Difference-in-difference (DID) analysis was used to compare changes in insurance status, risk group at diagnosis, TTI, and the refusal of LT among patients residing in Medicaid expansion versus non-expansion states.

Methods: To achieve these objectives, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, analyzing recent studies on ferroptosis, including its cellular, molecular, and gene-level characteristics. The review involved an evaluation of advancements in ferroptosis drug research across various medical domains, with particular attention to novel therapeutic approaches in nano-medicine, TCM, and Western medicine.
Objective: The objective of this study is to present a cross-sectional analysis of cancer burden in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region and explain unique characteristics of its cancer burden as compared with the rest of the world.
Methods And Analysis: Using publicly available data from the Global Cancer Observatory (GCO) and the World Bank, we collected cancer statistics and population statistics for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka from 2017 to 2022.
Results: The number of newly diagnosed cases in the region was 1 846 963, representing 9.

Edible oils and ghee are vital parts of our daily culinary practices. In recent years, owing to heightened demand in the domestic and global markets, consistent reports regarding the adulteration of edible oils and ghee with substandard ingredients have been reported. Adulteration in edible oils is widespread, with distinctive contaminants, including cottonseed, mineral, and lower-cost oils like palm olein.

Objective: The Heat Shock Protein 70 (HSP70) family is a highly conserved group of molecular chaperones essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. These proteins are necessary for protein folding, assembly, and degradation and involve cell recovery from stress conditions. HSP70 proteins are upregulated in response to heat shock, oxidative stress, and pathogenic infections.

Translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP) is a well conserved and ubiquitously expressed multifunctional protein found in many organisms and is involved in many pathophysiological processes like cell proliferation, differentiation, development and cell death. The role of TCTP in anti-apoptosis and cancer metastasis makes it a promising candidate for cancer therapy. Dictyostelium discoideum, a protist, has two isoforms (TCTP1 and TCTP2, now referred to as TPT1 and TPT2) of which we have earlier elucidated TPT1.

It is a matter of serious concern in most communities and cultures and has consequences on women's mental, physical, reproductive, and sexual health. The study aimed to determine the prevalence and pattern of DV among married women.

Phospholipid flippases in the P4-ATPase family are essential for establishing membrane asymmetry. These ATP-powered pumps translocate specific lipids from the exofacial leaflet to the cytosolic leaflet of the plasma membrane, thereby concentrating substrate lipids, such as phosphatidylserine, in the cytosolic leaflet while non-substrate lipids populate the exofacial leaflet. Here, we describe a method for measuring P4-ATPase transport activity in the yeast plasma membrane by using flow cytometry to quantify the uptake of lipids derivatized with a fluorescent [7-nitro-2-1,3-benzoxadiazol-4-yl)amino] (NBD) group on a short (C6) fatty acyl chain.

Methods: We did a single-center, retrospective study in patients with suspected recurrent ovarian carcinoma who underwent 18 F-FDG PET/CT.
This study includes cultivation in artificial saline medium (ASM). With the aim of harvesting the bulk biomass, an experiment was set up at a bench scale to evaluate the best flocculation technique with the least compromising biomass and lipid loss. The flocculation efficiencies for the biomass have been studied using the auto-, bio-, and chemical-flocculation methods.

The acetylation of proteins' N-terminal amino groups by the N-acetyltransferase complexes plays a crucial role in modulating the spatial stability and functional activities of diverse human proteins. Mutations disrupting the stability and function of NAA10 result in X-linked rare genetic disorders. In this study, we conducted a global analysis of the impact of fifteen disease-associated missense mutations in .

We therefore evaluated dose-volume histogram (DVH) parameters along with concordance index (ConI), conformity index (CI), and homogeneity index (HI) of planning target volume (PTV) of GTV delineated on CECT vs MRI in HNCs enrolled for intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT).
Methodology: Forty consecutive HNCs were enrolled in this study.

Cadmium (Cd) is a heavy metal pollutant widely distributed in the environment due to industrial activities, mining, and agricultural practices. Cadmium-induced Toxicity exerts profound effects on ER functioning through multiple mechanisms, leading to cellular dysfunction and pathological consequences. Cadmium disrupts protein folding and activates the unfolded protein response (UPR).
