Introduction: Dermatologic manifestations of diseases in solid organ transplant recipients are common due to long-term immunosuppression.
Case Presentation: We present the case of a 63-year-old man with a kidney transplant who exhibited subcutaneous nodules on lower extremities, cytopenia, and asymptomatic pulmonary infiltrate. Through a skin biopsy and 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) sequencing, was identified.
Secondary organic aerosol (SOA) from acid-driven reactive uptake of isoprene epoxydiols (IEPOX) contributes up to 40% of organic aerosol (OA) mass in fine particulate matter. Previous work showed that IEPOX substantially converts particulate inorganic sulfates to surface-active organosulfates (OSs). This decreases aerosol acidity and creates a viscous organic-rich shell that poses as a diffusion barrier, inhibiting additional reactive uptake of IEPOX.

Measurements were conducted during the Wintertime INvestigation of Transport, Emissions, and Reactivity campaign in February-March of 2015 aboard the NCAR-NSF C-130 aircraft. Factitious fever caused by self-injecting oral medications through indwelling central catheters is a diagnostic challenge.
Case Presentation: We present a 32-year-old Caucasian female with history of short gut syndrome, malnutrition requiring total parental nutrition, and pancreatic auto-islet transplant with fever of unknown origin.
Status epilepticus after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (alloHCT) is rare. The authors report a case involving a 65-year-old man with nonconvulsive status epilepticus 34 days after umbilical cord blood transplantion for chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Objective: To identify the incidence of clinically significant findings on preoperative thoracic radiographs in dogs with gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV) and to determine if those findings are associated with survival.
Design: Retrospective study from 2000 to 2010.
Setting: Urban university small animal teaching hospital.
Background: Persistent neutrophilic meningitis is an unusual form of chronic meningitis that is defined as clinical meningitis with a neutrophilic pleocytosis that persists for greater than 7 days despite empiric antimicrobial therapy. Although numerous disease processes can cause this syndrome, the majority of cases are due to opportunistic pathogens infecting immunocompromised hosts.
Case Presentation: A 47 year-old female presented after basilar skull fracture with persistent neutrophilic meningitis unresponsive to empiric broad-spectrum antibiotics.
Respiratory virus infections, such as influenza A, cause significant morbidity in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) recipients. The clinical characteristics and impact of infection with the novel H1N1 virus in this patient population is not yet well defined, however. HSCT recipients diagnosed with proven or probable H1N1 during the 2009 pandemic were identified and charts were retrospectively reviewed with analysis of clinical descriptions, risk factors, diagnosis, treatments, and outcomes.

Gerontologic considerations in the delivery of health care become increasingly more important as a result of these population trends. Factors such as physiologic age-related changes, comorbid conditions, and the incidence of polypharmacy contribute to the challenges of administering chemotherapy to older patients with cancer.
