Background: This study examined the presence of food addiction (FA) in patients with binge eating disorder (BED) 2 years after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) and explored its association with some minerals, ferritin, weight loss and, body composition outcomes.
Materials And Methods: In this study, 120 patients with BED who had undergone LSG 2 years prior to participation were enrolled. BED was assessed using Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5) criteria and presence of FA was assessed using the Yale Food Addiction Scale (YFAS).
Dipole localization, a fundamental challenge in electromagnetic source imaging, inherently constitutes an optimization problem aimed at solving the inverse problem of electric current source estimation within the human brain. The accuracy of dipole localization algorithms is contingent upon the complexity of the forward model, often referred to as the head model, and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of measurements. In scenarios characterized by low SNR, often corresponding to deep-seated sources, existing optimization techniques struggle to converge to global minima, thereby leading to the localization of dipoles at erroneous positions, far from their true locations.

It suggested that increasing the patient's interest and participation in using smartphone apps is important for the effectiveness of diabetes management apps.
Methods: After evaluating all-encompassing features for diabetes management, we divided the selected factors into sub-factors for use in the application.
Deep neural networks (NNs) encounter scalability limitations when confronted with a vast array of neurons, thereby constraining their achievable network depth. To address this challenge, we propose an integration of tensor networks (TN) into NN frameworks, combined with a variational DMRG-inspired training technique. This in turn, results in a scalable tensor neural network (TNN) architecture capable of efficient training over a large parameter space.

A pro-vegetarian dietary pattern (PDP) is a gradual and progressive approach to vegetarianism. The current study aimed to assess the association between PDP and the odds of protein-energy wasting (PEW) and sarcopenia in patients with CKD.

Therefore, we decided to investigate the association between dietary inflammatory index (DII) and the risk of protein-energy wasting (PEW) and sarcopenia in patients with CKD. In this cross-sectional study, 109 patients with CKD were selected from two clinics in Shiraz, Iran.

This study aimed to determine the possible role of plant-based diet index (PDI) in COVID-19 severity. This cross-sectional, multicentral study was conducted on 141 patients with confirmed COVID-19.

Materials And Methods: Participants were randomly allocated to either the low-calorie DASH diet group (intervention) or the low-calorie diet group (control) for a duration of 16 weeks. Both groups had a prescribed caloric intake of 1000-1200 calories.
Background: The effect of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) on chronic kidney disease (CKD) has been studied in some studies. The present study aimed to investigate the association between UPF consumption and the risk of protein-energy wasting (PEW) and sarcopenia in patients with CKD in the Iranian population.
Methods: The current cross-sectional study included 110 patients with CKD referred to two clinics in Shiraz, Iran.
The aim of this study was to investigate whether dairy intake was associated with the severity of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) disease and the probability of hospitalization of patients. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 141 patients with COVID-19 with an average age of 46.23 ± 15.

This study aimed to analyze the effect of zoledronic acid on the mentioned parameters in kidney transplant patients.
Methods: In this double-blind, randomized trial, 33 patients were followed for six months after administering either 4mg of zoledronic acid or a placebo.
The prevalence of cognitive impairment in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients is estimated to be approximately 40-60%. There is an increasing body of evidence regarding the impact of both selenium and crocin as antioxidant agents on cognitive function. In the present study, for the first time, we investigated the effect of crocin-selenium nanoparticles (Cor@SeNs) on cognitive function and oxidative stress markers in MS patients.

Search strategy, study screening, and data gathering were all conducted using a checklist and the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). Two researchers independently extracted the data, and a third person was included to resolve disagreements.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed magnetoencephalography (MEG) and high-density (HD-EEG) data from 23 children with FCD-associated DRE who underwent intracranial EEG and surgery. We localized spikes using equivalent current dipole (ECD) fitting, dipole clustering, and dynamical statistical parametric mapping (dSPM) on EMSI, electric source imaging (ESI), and magnetic source imaging (MSI).
Background And Aim: Given the importance of dietary habits in the immune system, the current study aimed at investigating the association between Dietary Approach to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet and risk of hospitalization due to COVID-19.
Methods: Dietary data of 141 patients with COVID-19 were collected using 147-item food frequency questionnaire. DASH score in this cross-sectional study was calculated based on eight components, including fruits, vegetables, legumes and nuts and seeds, whole grains, low-fat dairy, red or processed meats, sweetened beverages, and sodium.

Introduction: In recent decades, studies have addressed the issue of how migraine and obesity are related and have suggested obesity as a risk factor for migraine headache. However, the exact direction of this relationship remains under debate. In this review, the authors summarize the evidence that have suggested migraine as a risk factor for obesity and overweightness.

In the current study, we aimed to examine the association of the empirical dietary index for hyperinsulinemia (EDIH) and empirical lifestyle index for hyperinsulinemia (ELIH) index with the NAFLD odds in the adult population.
Methods: In the current case-control study, 120 cases of NAFLD and 240 controls aged 20-60 years were included.
Background: Trichomoniasis is a parasitic infection of the urinary and genital tract, caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. This study aimed to investigate the molecular diagnosis of T. vaginalis infection in liquid-based Papanicolaou samples in Shiraz, southern Iran.

Alginate can be degraded into oligosaccharides; both the polymer and its products exhibit antioxidative, antimicrobial, and immunomodulatory activities and, hence, find many commercial applications.
