Animal derived biopolymers for food packaging applications: A review.

It is essential to use environment-friendly, non-toxic, biodegradable and sustainable materials for various applications. Biopolymers are derived from renewable sources like plants, microorganisms, and agricultural wastes. Unlike conventional polymers, biopolymer has a lower carbon footprint and contributes less to greenhouse gas emission.

Tunable electrical properties of carbon dot doped photo-responsive azobenzene-clay nanocomposites.

The development of photo-responsive nanocomposite materials is important in the fabrication of optoelectronic devices. In this work, we fabricated a carbon dot doped azobenzene-clay nanocomposite which possesses different ac conductivity with and without UV treatment. At first, azobenzene nanoclusters were synthesised and then successfully used to make an azobenzene-clay nanocomposite.

The rediscovery of Craib (Leguminosae) after 67 years from India.

Manipur is one of the biodiversity-rich states in the North-Eastern region of India, and it is also part of the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot with rich plant diversity and endemism. Recent field exploration in the area has resulted in the rediscovery of Craib after 67 years from its last collection in 1952. The rediscovery of this beautiful species fills a gap in the current distribution knowledge and should pave the way for its immediate conservation and propagation.
