Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 64 patients scheduled for tympanoplasty. Patients were randomly assigned to receive either 0.
Introduction: Ear symptoms of granulomatosis with polyangiitis can range from ear fullness and otalgia to conductive or sensory neural hearing loss and sudden deafness. Cochlear implantation in these patients faces two challenges: access to the round window and control of mastoid and middle ear inflammation. The combined approach in cochlear implantation is a classic trans-facial recess approach facilitated by a trans-canal view.

Economic evaluation of cancer treatment to reduce costs can save the health care system millions of dollars while optimizing care. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to study the economic evaluation of cancer treatment using intermediate intensity radiation therapy (IMRT) compared to conventional 3D conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT).

Introduction: Integrating social values into health technology assessment processes is an important component of proper healthcare priority setting. This study aims to identify social values related to healthcare priority setting in Iran.
Method: A scoping review was conducted on original studies that investigating social values in the healthcare system in Iran.
Background And Purpose: Although some proposed mechanisms responsible for tamoxifen resistance have already been present, further study is needed to determine the mechanisms underlying tamoxifen resistance more clearly. The critical role of Notch signaling has been described in promoting resistance in therapeutics, but there is little information about its role in tamoxifen resistance progression.
Experimental Approach: In the present study, the expression of Notch pathway genes, including and the Notch downstream target was evaluated using quantitative RT-PCR in 36 tamoxifen-resistant (TAM-R) and 36 tamoxifen-sensitive (TAM-S) patients.
With the increase in the population of cancer patients and the importance of reducing the economic burden of disease, it is very important to offer solutions that can provide the services needed by this group of patients in the most appropriate way. In recent years, palliative care services have been provided in a wide range of countries for this purpose, and many studies have been conducted to assess its economic and clinical aspects. The current study aimed to systematically review economic evaluation studies that investigate the costs of end-of-life care for cancer patients.

Methods: English literature databases from 2000 to 2020 were searched to find studies related to the objective of the present review.
Scoliosis is a spine deformity that presents as Cobb's angle greater than 10 degrees. Pedicle screw placement can be employed in scoliosis corrective procedures but poses a danger of disrupting the motor and sensory pathways by injuries to the nerves, spinal cord, and vasculature. Occasionally traction weight is applied before the instrumentation for correction.

A fixed-dose combination treatment is known as the polypill for the primary and secondary prevention of CVD has come up in recent years.
Purpose: In order to provide recommendations for future economic evaluations, this systematic review aimed to review and assess the quality of published evidence on the cost-effectiveness of polypill in primary and secondary prevention of CVD, to identify the key drivers that impact the cost-effectiveness.
Study Objective: To determine the effectiveness of intranasal topical application of tranexamic acid in reducing the need for anterior nasal packing and determine the number of episodes of rebleeding in adult patients presenting with spontaneous atraumatic anterior epistaxis.
Methods: This study was a double-blind randomized trial conducted from September to November 2021 in the ears, nose, and throat (ENT) emergency department (ED), Khalili Hospital, Shiraz, Iran. Cotton pledgets soaked in either phenylephrine and lidocaine (control group) or tranexamic acid with phenylephrine and lidocaine (intervention group) were inserted into the patients' nostrils for 15 minutes.
Objective: This study aimed to compare neural response telemetry and impedance between the round window and cochleostomy approaches for cochlear implantation.
Methods: In this case-control study, 64 patients aged less than 3.5 years underwent cochlear implantation via the round window or cochleostomy approach.

Objective: Many methods have been described for the repair of the tympanic membrane, but there is no general consensus as to the standard method. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the inferior base posterior canal skin flap on the graft success rate in large tympanic membrane perforations.
Methods: After the post-auricular incision, the posterior canal skin flap with inferior pedicle was created by two vertical and one horizontal incisions.
Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) is prevalent in Iran and incurs direct and indirect costs on the health care system and the patient. Therefore, this study was conducted to estimate the economic burden of this disease in Iran. This study includes all patients with EB disease who had been referred to the medical centers of Iran in 2019-2020 for treatment of their disease, especially Hazrat Fatimah Hospital and their medical records are available in Iran EB Patients Association (IEBPA).

Introduction: Disease recurrence is an important obstacle in estrogen receptor positive (ER) tamoxifen treated breast carcinoma patients. Tamoxifen resistance-related molecular mechanisms are not fully understood. Alteration in DNA methylation which contributes to transcriptional regulation of cancer-related genes plays a crucial role in tamoxifen response.
