Melioidosis is caused by a gram-negative bacillus , which is found in water and soil in endemic areas. There are indicators that is increasing in endemic regions and expanding into new locations. It is unclear whether this is because of expanded boundaries or improved detection capabilities.

The mortality rate of DRESS syndrome is moderate, and prompt diagnosis and treatment are essential. When DRESS syndrome is presented with significant hypereosinophilia (HE), it should be differentiated from other conditions that can cause HE through a comprehensive approach to diagnostic evaluation.
