This study investigated the isolation and bioactivity of Actinomycetia from the soil of Northeast India, a region rich in microbial diversity. A total of 187 presumptive Actinomycetia isolates were obtained and 53 were found to exhibit antimicrobial properties. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16 S rRNA gene sequencing revealed that the isolates were predominantly from the genus Streptomyces.

The activity of sodium glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) has always been an important parameter influencing chronic kidney disease in type-2 diabetic patients. Herein, we have meticulously designed, synthesized, and evaluated several novel steroidal pyrimidine molecules that possess the capability to successfully bind to the SGLT2 protein and inhibit its activity, thereby remedying kidney-related ailments in diabetic patients. In this study, we investigated whether zerumbone (ZBN), ellagic acid (ELA) and quercetin (QCT), the plant-derived components, can modulate the role of COX-3 or cytokines liable in arthritic disorder. Halogen bonding triggered by the Lewis basic nature of acetonitrile catalyzes the site-selective C-3 triaryl methylation of indoles and -triaryl methylation of imidazoles with trityl chlorides under catalyst-, metal-, and additive-free conditions at room temperature. This study was conducted to determine the effect of Cephalotaxus griffithii needle essential oil (CGNO) on proliferation and migration of human cervical cancer (HCC) cells. CGNO treatment decreased the viability of all the tested HCC (HeLa, ME-180 and SiHa) cells.
