Background: The prevalence and clinical implications of chronic cough (CC) in patients with severe asthma receiving asthma treatment remain relatively unknown.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the relationships between CC and asthma control and quality-of-life (QoL) in patients with severe asthma through longitudinal analysis.
Methods: Baseline and 6-month follow-up data from the Korean Severe Asthma Registry were analyzed.
Background/aims: Psoriasis is a common inflammatory skin disorder following non-specific triggers. Involvement of immune system is widely accepted for pathogenesis studies have demonstrated importance of gut microbiota in pathogenesis of inflammatory skin diseases. Proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and histamine-2 receptor antagonist (H2RA) are acid-suppressive drugs widely used for acid related gastrointestinal diseases, and prolonged use has been associated with altered gut microbiota.

We evaluated whether MAST could effectively screen wheat-dependent exercise-induced anaphylaxis (WDEIA) and α-gal syndrome (AGS). We retrospectively reviewed patients with WDEIA and AGS diagnosed with unequivocal history and positive sIgE results for omega-5 gliadin and α-gal using ImmunoCAP, respectively.

Objective: We aim to explore distinct longitudinal phenotypes of these patients based on crucial asthma biomarkers.
Methods: We enrolled 101 adult patients with SEA.
Purpose: Despite the emerging biologics, biomarkers and treatment options for asthma-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) overlap (ACO) are still limited, requiring further research.
Methods: We enrolled 378 ACO patients from a multicenter real-world asthma cohort in Korea and compared the clinical characteristics, lung function, and exacerbation between type 2 (T2)-high and T2-low groups. We used the following comparisons: 1) low vs.
Background: Epidemiological studies of neuropsychiatric events (NPEs) associated with leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs) have yielded inconsistent results. Recent studies have demonstrated strong temporal relationships between LTRA prescription and NPE occurrence, indicating a need for further investigation.
Objective: To investigate potential LTRA-related NPEs and associated risk factors.
Background: Anti-type 2 (T2) biologic therapies (biologics) improve exacerbation rates, lung function, and asthma-related quality of life (QoL) in patients with severe T2 asthma. However, studies comparing different biologics are lacking. We evaluated the QoL in patients with severe asthma comprehensively and compare the efficacy of different T2-directed biologics using QoL questionnaires.

Materials And Methods: This pragmatic, multicenter, randomized controlled phase 3 trial was conducted in seven tertiary centers.

Pregnancy is a risk factor for asthma exacerbation and may trigger new-onset asthma in nonasthmatics. This study evaluated the epidemiology of newly diagnosed asthma during pregnancy and the associated risk factors among previously nonasthmatic women. Twelve-year medical data from the Korean National Health Insurance claims database (from January 2007 to December 2018) of Korean women who gave birth between January 2012 and December 2015 were collected.

Methods: We analyzed data from the Korean SA Registry, a nationwide, real-world observational study of SA in Korea. The baseline clinical characteristics, disease control status, and medication use of the patients were compared between elderly (≥ 65 years) and nonelderly groups.
Purpose: Severe asthma is associated with high morbidity and healthcare utilization; however, treatment options for these patients are limited. This study aimed to determine the therapeutic effects of biologics in clinical practice.
Methods: This multicenter, retrospective cohort study included 136 patients who received biologics for at least 4 months between September 2017 and July 2022 at 25 medical centers affiliated with the Korean Severe Asthma Registry (KoSAR).
Background: Sex-related disparities in the prevalence of chronic cough have been consistently reported globally, with varying male-to-female ratios.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate sex-related differences by comparing correlations between cough-related symptoms in males and females of different age groups.
Design: Adult patients with chronic cough who completed the Leicester Cough Questionnaire (LCQ) were recruited from 16 respiratory centers.
Background: The determinants linked to the short- and long-term improvement in lung function in patients with severe eosinophilic asthma (SEA) on biological treatment (BioT) remain elusive.
Objective: We sought to identify the predictors of early and late lung function improvement in patients with SEA after BioT.
Methods: 140 adult patients with SEA who received mepolizumab, dupilumab, or reslizumab were followed up for 6 months to evaluate improvement in forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV).

Background: The Leicester Cough Questionnaire (LCQ) is a reliable tool for measuring the multidimensional impact of cough on patients' quality of life; however, its scoring algorithm is lengthy and complex for routine clinical use.
Objective: The study aimed to develop a simplified version of the LCQ, the Rapid Cough Questionnaire (RCQ), as a substitue in clinical practice and validate the RCQ using an independent cohort.
Methods: To select items for the RCQ score, a correlation network was used to determine the items from each domain that were strongly correlated with the total LCQ score.
Background: Despite the increasing use of biologics in severe asthma, there is limited research on their use in asthma-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease overlap (ACO). We compared real-world treatment responses to biologics in ACO and asthma.
Methods: We conducted a multicenter, retrospective, cohort study using data from the Precision Medicine Intervention in Severe Asthma (PRISM).
Background: Rosacea is a common inflammatory skin disease with multiple etiologies. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and histamine-2 receptor antagonists (H2RA) are acid suppressive drugs widely used for gastrointestinal (GI) diseases, and long-term use has been reported to be associated with dysbiosis which is a potential risk for development of rosacea. This study aimed to study the association between rosacea and acid suppressants in the Korean national cohort.

Chronic urticaria (CU) is a common problem with a high disease burden that has a significant negative impact on quality of life. Many patients are undertreated, and awareness of management strategies is low among clinicians. The present study aimed to improve understanding of CU from the patients' perspective, including the disease burden and current healthcare system use.

S1P is known to promote cell migration, invasion, proliferation, and anti-apoptosis through hippocampal signals. However, S1P mediated cellular-, molecular mechanism is still remained in the lung.
