In these adducts, the newly created chiral center is adjacent to a vinyl sulfoxide functionality which should allow for subsequent chirality transfer operations. Alternatively, enantiopure alkenyl sulfones and alkenes bearing an allylic stereocenter are readily available from these adducts with high geometric control.
