Objective: The cardiac return assist blanket (CRAB) has been designed to increase central venous pressure (CVP) to manage severe hypotension associated with anaphylaxis. This interventional study aimed to identify the relationship between CRAB pressure and CVP. CRAB pressure was also compared with the change in CVP associated with a straight leg raise (SLR), the Trendelenburg position, and 1 L of compound sodium lactate.

The need for expanded coverage of air quality measurements across Salt Lake County (SLCO), Utah is being met by mounting air quality and temperature sensors on an expanding fleet of battery electric buses (BEBs). Monitoring air quality from a mobile sensor network provides real-time insights into air pollution patterns at high temporal and spatial resolution.

Is staging breast magnetic resonance imaging for invasive lobular carcinoma worthwhile?

Background: Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is challenging to stage accurately using mammography (MG) and ultrasound (US) with undiagnosed ipsilateral and contralateral cancer resulting in poor patient outcomes including return to surgery. Our institution employs routine staging breast MRI in ILC for this reason. However, increased time for further imaging/biopsies contributes to patient anxiety and potentially delays definite management.

Background: In High-Income Countries (HICs) HIV/AIDS continues to disproportionally affect Black Women of African Descent (BWAD) and other racialized groups and is now a major public health concern. Despite the multiple efforts, evidence is limited on the effectiveness of HIV interventions to address the HIV outcomes inequalities among BWAD. This protocol outlines the methodological process of a systematic review that will gather quantitative and qualitative data to examine existing determinants of effective HIV prevention, treatment, and care interventions to address the HIV outcomes disparities and inequities among BWAD in HICs.

Adrenal washout CT in patients with no history of cancer: a waste of time?

Purpose: To validate the diagnostic performance of adrenal washout CT in patients without known malignancy in a Western Australian population.

Methods: A radiology information system (RIS) search for CT reports containing "adrenal" and "washout" across six networked metropolitan public hospitals between January 2005 and November 2021. Homogenous nodules ≥ 1 cm, ≥ 10 HU without a suspected functional component in patients without a history of malignancy were included.

Factors related to the low-risk perception of driving after cannabis use.

Introduction: Modifying risk perceptions related to driving after cannabis use (DACU) could deter individuals from enacting this behavior, as low-risk perception is associated with DACU engagement. This study identified sociodemographic characteristics, substance use, other driving behaviors, peer norms, and psychological characteristics that are associated with lower risk perception regarding DACU.

Few non-surgical, longitudinal studies have evaluated the relations between spinal degeneration, lumbar multifidus muscle (LMM) quality, and clinical outcomes. None have assessed the potential mediating role of the LMM between degenerative pathology and 12-month clinical outcomes. This prospective cohort study used baseline and 12-month follow-up data from 569 patients conservatively managed for low back or back-related leg pain to estimate the effects of aggregate degenerative lumbar MRI findings and LMM quality on 12-month low back and leg pain intensity (0-10) and disability (0-23) outcomes, and explored the mediating role of LMM quality between degenerative findings and 12-month clinical outcomes.

Long Term Survival Benefits of Different Conduits Used in Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery- A Single Institutional Practice Over 20 Years.

Objective: This study determined hazard factors and long-term survival rate of total arterial coronary artery bypass graft surgery over 20 years in an extensively large, population-based cohort.

Methods: A total of 2979 patients who underwent isolated CABG from April 1999 to March 2020 were studied in 4 groups- Group-A (bilateral internal mammary artery ± radial artery), Group-B (single internal mammary artery + radial artery ± saphenous vein), Group-C (single internal mammary artery ± saphenous vein; no radial artery), and Group-D (radial artery ± saphenous vein; no internal mammary artery). The study endpoints analysed the correlation between the number and types of grafts with the survival time following isolated CABG surgery.

Associations between physical activity, sedentary behaviour and cognitive domain performance of people living with mild cognitive impairment in the community.

Introduction: Physical activity is known to positively influence cognitive performance. For adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), the relationship between physical activity levels and cognitive performance is unknown. This cross-sectional study aimed to determine if cognitive performance [as measured by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA)] of people living in the community with MCI is associated with their physical activity levels or sedentary behaviour.

Background: Post-stroke lateropulsion is prevalent and has been associated with varied lesion locations, but existing imaging studies are limited by small participant cohorts. Evidence to guide lateropulsion rehabilitation is also limited. Background And Aim: Snare resection of nonlifting colonic lesions often requires supplemental techniques. We compared the success rates of neoplasia eradication using hot avulsion and argon plasma coagulation in colonic polyps when complete snare polypectomy had failed.

Methods: Polyps that were not completely resectable by snare polypectomy were randomized to argon plasma coagulation or hot avulsion for completion of resection.
