Aim: To detect the impact on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in adolescents, young adults, and adults with dental agenesis (DA).
Methods: A comparative study (1:2) matched for age and sex was designed. Data of participants, aged 14-55 years (group with DA: G1; group without DA: G2), and who answered the Brazilian version of the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 questionnaire, were collected.
Dental agenesis (DA) is defined as the congenital absence of teeth and is considered as the most common dental anomaly. It may cause speech and masticatory dysfunctions as well as esthetic problems. Its impact on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) is not fully understood.
