Avulsion fractures of the anterior inferior iliac spine rarely occur in adolescent athletes during rectus femoris contractions or eccentric muscle lengthening while the growth plate is still open. Currently, there are no official guidelines in the literature on the treatment indications of this type of fracture or the type of surgical technique to be used. Nowadays, young and athletic patients desire a quick return to their previous activities, which makes surgical treatment a reasonable choice.

The present study aimed to re-evaluate the appropriate acute surgical treatment of AIIS avulsion fractures considering the three-dimensional anatomy of the supracetabular region.
Methods: This study evaluated current evidence of AIIS avulsion fracture treatments and outcomes.

Purpose: Epidemiological and clinical parameters according to the Parker-Palmer Index (PPI) have not been specifically studied as predictors of re-fracture time in patients over 65 years old with contralateral hip fracture. The main purpose of this study was to assess whether these parameters could represent a prognostic factor in this population.
Methods: This retrospective study included all consecutive patients older than 65 years that suffered from a proximal femoral fracture, 31 according to Association for Osteosynthesis/Orthopaedic Trauma Association classification, treated at our unit between Feb 1st 2019 and Feb 1st 2020.
Intralesional steroid injection is a common and highly effective treatment procedure, which can be successfully used for several dermatologic, rheumatologic, and orthopedic disorders. However, it may be associated with various local side effects, such as pain, granulomatous reaction, allergic reactions, hypo or hyperpigmentation and, uncommonly, skin atrophy. A peculiar and rare side effect of steroid injection is linear hypopigmentation and atrophy, which is probably an expression of lymphatic spread of corticosteroid crystals.
