Background & Aims: The inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), are heterogenous diseases ranging from mild to severe. We aimed to describe the prevalence and prognosis of mild IBD in an unselected population-based patient cohort.

Methods: We identified all individuals diagnosed with IBD during 1997 to 2020 in North Denmark (n = 4607).

COVID-19 vaccine-neutralizing antibodies provide early data on potential vaccine effectiveness, but their usefulness depends on study reliability and reporting quality. We systematically evaluated 50 published post-vaccination neutralizing antibody studies for key parameters that determine study and data quality regarding sample size, SARS-CoV-2 infection, vaccination regimen, sample collection period, demographic characterization, clinical characterization, experimental protocol, live virus and pseudo-virus details, assay standardization, and data reporting. Each category was scored from very high to low or unclear quality, with the lowest score determining the overall study quality score.

Background: The emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has highlighted the importance of genomic epidemiology in understanding the evolution of pathogens and guiding public health interventions. Introduction: Deep rTMS is an increasingly popular noninvasive brain stimulation technique which has shown promise for treating cognitive impairments. However, few studies have investigated the cognitive effects it could exert in patients with chronic peripheral neuropathic pain. Therefore, we aimed to assess the effects of deep rTMS on executive functioning in patients with peripheral neuropathic pain, in a randomized, double-blind crossover trial.

Cognitive flexibility is associated with sickness resilience.

Psychological constructs related to health outcomes and well-being, such as metacognitive beliefs, have been linked to executive functions in general, and cognitive flexibility more specifically. However, such effects have previously only been discussed on a theoretical level and behavioral flexibility has most often been measured through self-report, only approximating information processing capacities. Objectively measured executive functions may be a more potent predictor of health outcomes.

Remote screening accuracy of first-time hearing aid users.

Introduction: Capacity constraints in Danish hearing healthcare may lead to diagnostic delays and repetitive pre-treatment audiological exams for hearing-impaired patients. This study investigated the effectiveness of remote ear-nose-throat (ENT) specialist assessments (RESA) for complicated hearing loss, comparing the accuracy of private ENT specialists and medical audiologists.

Methods: RESA screening accuracy was determined for four ENT specialists, individually and as subspecialised groups.

Associations between cognitive test scores and pain tolerance: The Tromsø study.

Objectives: Previous studies have suggested that experimental pain sensitivity is associated with cognitive function. The aim of this study is to assess this relationship in a large population-based sample.

Methods: We included 5,753 participants (aged 40-84 years) from the seventh wave of the population-based Tromsø Study who had been examined with cognitive tests and experimental pain assessments, and for whom information on covariates were available.

Cosmetic surgery and associated chronic postsurgical pain: A cross-sectional study from Norway.

Objectives: Chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP) is a common postoperative sequela. Despite the increasing popularity of cosmetic surgeries, there is a notable lack of research on CPSP in this context, with existing studies focusing on breast surgeries only. To address existing gaps in knowledge, the objective of the present study was to investigate the self-reported prevalence of cosmetic surgery and associated CPSP among Norwegian adults.

Background: There is little knowledge of what factors are needed for successful chronic pain management. We aim to identify psychosocial and treatment predictors of clinical recovery and improved quality of life (QOL) at 12-month follow-up across three chronic pain groups, based on the International Classification of Diseases-11: neuropathic pain, secondary non-neuropathic pain, and primary pain. Furthermore, we investigate baseline differences across diagnostic groups.

Background: This study aimed to identify strategies for the implementation of a guided internet- and mobile-based intervention (IMI) for infant sleep problems ("Sleep Well, Little Sweetheart") in well-baby and community mental health clinics.

Study Design: We used group concept mapping, a two-phased mixed methods approach, conducted as a two-day workshop in each clinic. We recruited 20 participants from four clinics and collected sorting and rating data for implementation strategies based on the Expert Recommendations for Implementing Change taxonomy and brainstorming sessions.

Background And Aims: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is associated with disease manifestations in organs other than the gastrointestinal tract. In this study, we aimed to estimate the odds of obstructive lung disease (OLD) before IBD onset and the risk of OLD after IBD onset.

Methods: In a nationwide population-based Danish cohort study from 1999 to 2018, individuals with IBD and OLD were identified using the Danish registries.

Design: Participants were randomised to either remote or in-person ENT assessment before treatment initiation. Hearing ability, hearing quality, and treatment satisfaction were assessed pre- and post-HA treatment using the SSQ12, IOI-HA, and selected items from the 2021 Danish national Patient-Reported Experience Measures.

While several vaccines and monoclonal antibodies (mAb) have been developed and deployed, natural selection against immune recognition of viral antigens by antibodies has fueled the evolution of new emerging variants and limited the immune protection by vaccines and mAb. To optimize the efficiency of mAb, it is imperative to understand how they neutralize the variants of concern (VoCs) and to investigate the mutations responsible for immune escape.

Cross-Cultural Translation and Adaptation of the Consumer Ear Disease Risk Assessment (CEDRA) Questionnaire in Danish.

This study aimed to cross-culturally translate and adapt the Consumer Ear Disease Risk Assessment (CEDRA) questionnaire into Danish for remote ear, nose, and, throat assessments in adult, first-time hearing aid users when used in conjunction with audiometric measures and visual images of the tympanic membrane. Employing field-specific guidelines, the tool underwent a rigorous translation process. This was succeeded by field testing via cognitive debriefing with 30 intendent respondents and a pilot test involving 600 adult, potential first-time hearing aid users from 2020-2022.
