Purpose: The development of endocrine resistance remains a significant challenge in the clinical management of estrogen receptor-positive ( ) breast cancer. Metabolic reprogramming is a prominent component of endocrine resistance and a potential therapeutic intervention point. However, a limited understanding of which metabolic changes are conserved across the heterogeneous landscape of ER+ breast cancer or how metabolic changes factor into ER DNA binding patterns hinder our ability to target metabolic adaptation as a treatment strategy.

Perspectives of patient and public partners on their involvement in research.

Introduction: Patient and public involvement (PPI) in research integrates patient and public perspectives to improve research relevance and quality. The experiences of PPI partners have revealed mixed findings in countries where PPI is well established, but accounts from areas less accustomed to PPI in research are limited. This study aimed to explore the knowledge, motivations, expectations and experiences of PPI representatives in such a setting.

The impact of iron deficiency on patients under evaluation for colorectal cancer, a prospective cross-sectional study.

Background And Objective: Iron deficiency affects more than 60% of colorectal cancer patients at the time of diagnosis. Iron deficiency ultimately leads to anemia, but additionally, iron deficiency might impact other domains of colorectal cancer patients' health and well-being. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of iron deficiency on fatigue, quality of life, cognition, and physical ability in patients undergoing evaluation for colorectal cancer.

Optimizing Early Clinical Investigations in Cancer Immunotherapy: The Translational Journey of RG6292, a Novel, Selective Treg-Depleting Antibody.

The multifaceted IL-2/IL-2R biology and its modulation by promising therapeutic agents are highly relevant topics in the cancer immunotherapy field. A novel CD25-Treg-depleting antibody (Vopikitug, RG6292) has been engineered to preserve IL-2 signaling on effector T cells to enhance effector activation and antitumor immunity, and is currently being evaluated in the clinic. The Entry into Human-enabling framework described here investigated the characteristics of RG6292, from in vitro quantification of CD25 and RG6292 pharmacology using human tissues to in vivo assessment of PK/PD/safety relationships in cynomolgus monkeys as non-human primate species (NHP).

Social inequality in prevalence of NCD risk factors: a cross-sectional analysis from the population-based Tromsø Study 2015-2016.

Objective: We aimed to examine associations between educational level, serving as an indicator of socioeconomic position, and prevalence of WHO-established leading behavioural and biological risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), in middle-aged to older women and men.

Design: Population-based cross-sectional study.

Setting: All inhabitants of the municipality of Tromsø, Norway, aged ≥40 years, were invited to the seventh survey (2015-2016) of the Tromsø Study; an ongoing population-based cohort study.

Since the 1980s, many countries of the Global North, such as Denmark, have successfully combatted N pollution in the aquatic environment by regulation and introduction of national agricultural one-size-fits-all mitigation measures. Despite this success, further reduction of the N load is required to meet the EU water directives demands, and implementation of additional targeted N regulation of agriculture has scientifically and politically been found to be a way forward.

Exploring variation in timely reperfusion treatment in ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction in Norway: a national register-based cohort study.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate determinants of reperfusion within recommended time limits (timely reperfusion) for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction patients, exploring the impact of geography, patient characteristics and socio-economy.

Design: National register-based cohort study.

Setting: Multilevel logistic regression models were applied to examine the associations between timely reperfusion and residency in hospital referral areas and municipalities, patient characteristics, and socio-economy.

Profiling the heterogeneity of colorectal cancer consensus molecular subtypes using spatial transcriptomics.

The consensus molecular subtypes (CMS) of colorectal cancer (CRC) is the most widely-used gene expression-based classification and has contributed to a better understanding of disease heterogeneity and prognosis. Nevertheless, CMS intratumoral heterogeneity restricts its clinical application, stressing the necessity of further characterizing the composition and architecture of CRC. Here, we used Spatial Transcriptomics (ST) in combination with single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to decipher the spatially resolved cellular and molecular composition of CRC.

Restricting alcohol marketing to reduce alcohol consumption: A systematic review of the empirical evidence for one of the 'best buys'.

Background And Aims: Even though a ban of alcohol marketing has been declared a 'best buy' of alcohol control policy, comprehensive systematic reviews on its effectiveness to reduce consumption are lacking. The aim of this paper was to systematically review the evidence for effects of total and partial bans of alcohol marketing on alcohol consumption.

Methods: This descriptive systematic review sought to include all empirical studies that explored how changes in the regulation of alcohol marketing impact on alcohol consumption.

Regional variation in incidence and prognosis of acute kidney injury.

Background: Examining regional variation in acute kidney injury (AKI) and associated outcomes may reveal inequalities and possibilities for optimization of the quality of care. Using the Danish medical databases, we examined regional variation in the incidence, follow-up and prognosis of AKI in Denmark.

Methods: Patients with one or more AKI episodes in 2017 were identified using population-based creatinine measurements covering all Danish residents.

Early menarche and other endocrine disrupting effects of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in adolescents from Northern Norway. The Fit Futures study.

Background: Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) comprise a large group of chemicals that are ubiquitous in the environment and include recognized persistent organic pollutants. The aim of this cross-sectional study was to investigate possible endocrine disrupting effects of different PFAS in adolescents.

Methods: Serum concentrations of PFAS, thyroid, parathyroid and steroid hormones were measured in 921 adolescents aged 15-19 years in the Fit Futures study, Northern Norway.

The Danish Health Authority recommends that all patients with life threatening disease, regardless of the diagnosis, are offered palliative care with respect for individual goals of care. Only few studies have investigated the evidence of ACP in patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis. This review defines ways to identify patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis in need of palliative care and how to analyse the goals of care.

Steatotic liver disease is the most important somatic determinant of quality of life in patients with obesity: A cross-sectional study.

Background And Aims: Patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) are often comorbid and stigmatized. This can negatively affect quality of life (QOL). Other studies have primarily used the Chronic Liver Disease Questionnaire (CLDQ), which focuses on liver-related symptoms, to characterize QOL, but most MASLD patients have only mild liver disease, and CLDQ might overlook QOL issues pertaining to them.

Knowledge needs in patients with Liver Disease: a qualitative study.

Health-economic valuation of lowering nitrate standards in drinking water related to colorectal cancer in Denmark.

Replacing red and processed meat with lean or fatty fish and all-cause and cause-specific mortality in Norwegian women. The Norwegian Women and Cancer Study (NOWAC): a prospective cohort study.

Nordic Nutrition Recommendations recommend reducing red and processed meat and increasing fish consumption, but the impact of this replacement on mortality is understudied. This study investigated the replacement of red and processed meat with fish in relation to mortality. Of 83 304 women in the Norwegian Women and Cancer Study (NOWAC) study, 9420 died during a median of 21·0 years of follow-up.

Relationship between quantitative strength and functional outcomes in the phase 2 FORTITUDE-ALS trial.

Objective: To assess the relationship among measurements of strength, function, and quality of life in an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) clinical trial.

Methods: In the FORTITUDE-ALS clinical trial (NCT03160898), 456 participants in the full-analysis set were treated with either or placebo for 12 weeks; this post hoc analysis included all participants regardless of treatment assignments. Assessments included slow vital capacity (SVC), the ALS Functional Rating Scale-Revised (ALSFRS-R), and the 5-item ALS Assessment Questionnaire (ALSAQ-5).
