This study reviewed pain and outcome scores of patients undergoing revision surgery with heterotopic ossification (HO) excision following previous hip arthroscopy. The aim was to determine if performing the excision arthroscopically improved clinical outcomes. Data were prospectively collected and retrospectively reviewed in patients who had HO removed arthroscopically between February 2008 and 2014.

Open calcaneus fractures are usually the result of high-energy mechanisms and are associated with other orthopedic and whole body system injures. Understanding the difference between open versus closed fractures is essential for the provider, and they must be vigilant for the associated injuries that present with this condition. We performed a retrospective medical record review of 62 patients (64 calcaneus fractures) with open calcaneus fractures from January 2003 to January 2013 presenting at a level 1 trauma center.

This paper details the comparison of different electropolymerized thiazine electrocatalysts for NADH oxidation. Electropolymerized thiazines have been shown to be electrocatalysts for NADH, but no comprehensive comparison of their properties in the same environment has been performed. The electropolymerization and electrocatalysis is very dependent on chemical and electrochemical environment, so the thiazines (methylene green, methylene blue, toluidine blue, azure a, azure b, and azure c) were all electropolymerized in the same chemical and electrochemical environment and tested for NADH electrocatalysis.
